  • 8 Natural Facial Masks

Applying facial masks removes toxins and dead cells, nourishes your skin, and treats issues like dullness and acne. Ayurvedic beauty recipes are some of the absolute best – they contain zero artificial chemicals, you can do them at home, and they are usually quite gentle on the skin. Here are 8 natural facial masks for oily, dry, acne prone, and dull skin types.

8 Natural Facial Masks

For Oily Skin

1. Banana + Honey + Lemon

Lemon is well known to reduce greasiness. Bananas and honey pamper your skin with nutrients and antioxidants.

What to do:

  • Mash a ripe banana.
  • Add a tbsp of honey.
  • Add ½ tsp of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Mix to form a paste.
  • Apply and rinse off with lukewarm water after 15 minutes.

2. Orange + Sandalwood + Rose Water

These three ingredients have been used for ages to treat oily skin. Together, they smell lovely and also soothe the mind.

What to do:

  • Dry the peels of an orange in the Sun for 3 days.
  • Crush them into a fine powder.
  • Add 2 tbsp of this powder to 1 tsp of sandalwood powder.
  • Add a bit of rose water.
  • Mix to form a paste.
  • Apply and rinse off after 20-25 minutes.

For Dry Skin

3. Cucumber + Aloe Vera

Cucumber and Aloe Vera supply your skin with much-needed hydration. Aloe Vera also takes care of acne, reduces inflammation, and soothes irritation and itchiness that result from dryness.

What to do:

  • Peel and chop up a cucumber.
  • Add 2 tbsp of pure Aloe Vera gel.
  • Put both into a blender to form a thick and smooth paste.
  • Apply the moisturising face mask for dry skin and rinse off with water after 30 minutes.

4. Avocado + Honey

This natural face mask for dry skin works wonders. Avocados contain loads of healthy oils. Honey boosts its moisturising power further and gives you a glow.

What to do:

  • Mash half a ripe avocado.
  • Add ¼ cup of honey.
  • Mix to form a paste.
  • Apply and rinse off after 15 minutes.

For Acne Affected Skin

5. Chickpea Flour + Honey + Turmeric

Turmeric is a powerful spice that gets rid of inflammation, irritation, as well as bacteria build up. Chickpea flour and honey exfoliate, cleanse, and moisturise.

What to do:

  • Add 1 tbsp of honey to 1 tbsp of chickpea flour.
  • Adding ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, mix to form a smooth paste.
  • Pour a bit of water if needed.
  • Apply and rinse off after 20 minutes.

6. Sandalwood + Turmeric + Lemon Juice

Sandalwood has a deeply soothing effect on pimpled affected, inflamed, and itchy skin. Turmeric, as we mentioned, heals acne. Lemon juice removes excess oil.

What to do:

  • Add ¼ tsp of turmeric powder to 2 tbsp of sandalwood.
  • Add a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
  • Mix to form a thick, smooth paste.
  • Apply and rinse off after 15-20 minutes.

For Dull Skin

7. Oatmeal + Honey + Milk

Oatmeal, honey, and milk work together to exfoliate, cleanse, and renew your skin with a healthy glow.

What to do:

  • Add 1 tsp of honey and 2 tsp of oatmeal to 3-4 tsp of milk.
  • Mix them all together until they form a thick paste.
  • Apply and rinse off after 20 minutes with lukewarm water.

8. Olive Oil + Honey + Baking Soda

This one’s better for dry types. Olive oil and honey moisturise and supply much-needed nutrients to flaky and dull skin. Baking soda gets rid of dirt and dead cells.

  • Add a tsp of olive oil, 1 tsp of baking soda and ½ tsp of honey.
  • Mix well.
  • Apply and rinse off after 15 minutes.

Note: If you experience irritation with any of these ingredients, wash them off immediately and try another solution. This article is not medical advice. Please consult your doctor if you suffer from a skin disorder before using these natural facial masks.
