“Ghee poses no risk to cardiac health and is absolutely safe if the total fat intake is restricted to the limit as prescribed” say scientists after having comprehended the mechanism of ghee’s protective properties. Ghee is made from butter and milk solids from which impurities have already been removed at the time of preparation. Therefore, most people who are lactose or casein intolerant are absolutely safe with the ghee intake.

It’s no longer just a myth or belief; Indian scientists after extensive research have discovered that Indian cow ghee could provide protection against diseases like cancer.

“Cow ghee enhances the availability of bodily enzymes which are responsible for the detoxification of cancer-causing substances and decreases the availability of those responsible for activation of carcinogens”, scientists from the National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) have reported in the latest issue of the Indian Journal of Medical Research.

Indian cow ghee is a rich and natural source of the fatty acid CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid). On the contrary, most vegetable oils contain a high amount of unsaturated fatty acids and linoleic acid (LA) which is considered pro-carcinogenic as it forms free radicals known to damage the DNA. Moreover, ghee is good for the heart. It also improves the blood HDL level.

Also, ghee is a pre-eminent source of butyric acid that is believed to preserve the immunity, colon health, and the healthy microbes. Research shows that a sufficient production of the butyric acid supports the generation of killer T cells in our gut ensuring a strong immune system.

    Ghee as a Natural Rejuvenator

Ghee strengthens Agni (the basic digesting power) and therefore builds up an exceptional basis for a healthy nutrition. Ghee has certain regeneration tendencies and is henceforth called as Rasayana in Ayurveda, which means a natural rejuvenator.

It is used in Ayurvedic treatments because of its inherent qualities to stabilize and harmonize the human body. Ayurveda therapists and experts avail ghee as a carrier substance for various Ayurvedic medicines.

It is one of the essential components for Ayurvedic and panchakarma treatments for overhauling the body. Ghee helps to soften the tissues for detoxification and utilizes the stored fat to be burned as fuel, providing energy and aiding in weight management.

On the whole, consuming ghee is just like taking a combination of prebiotics, fibre, and probiotics leading to a healthy digestive tract to fight diseases like ulcerative colitis, cancer and bowel inflammations.

Finally, even the research and science have validated the truth that Ayurveda has been reinforcing since ages that Ghee is certainly a nectar for the body, mind, and soul.
