Easy And Natural Treatment For Uric Acid Build Up

Your body produces uric acid after breaking down a chemical called ‘purine’ from the food you eat. So, uric acid is a waste product that then leaves your body through urine. But some people end up with dangerously high levels of uric acid. This happens when you eat too much purine-rich food, or because your body cannot get rid of the uric acid. Either way, it can cause trouble – it can lead to gout (a very painful form of arthritis), kidney stones, or even severe kidney damage. Here is how you can use certain natural ingredients in treatment for uric acid build up in your body.

Easy And Natural Treatment For Uric Acid Build Up

1. Drink Lots Of Water

Drinking water is one of the most important things when you’re trying to reduce uric acid quickly. So drink plenty of it. This helps dilute the uric acid and excrete more and more of it through the kidneys. Generally, doctors advise drinking around 10 glasses a day. Apart from this, make sure that the food you eat is also more liquid. Have lots of soup, dal (an Indian lentil dish), juicy fruits, and green tea. But as Ayurveda always says, stay away from the bad stuff – caffeine, alcohol, carbonated beverages, and such drinks. Moreover, drink you water warm rather than cold.

2. Load Up On Fibre

Foods high in fibre can also help reduce uric acid naturally by controlling the amounts present in blood. These foods, studies say, absorb it from the bloodstream and push it out through the kidneys. Fibre rich foods are rather helpful for those suffering from gout since they play an important role in reducing inflammation. Some of them are: oatmeal, potatoes, broccoli, bananas, and whole grains. But make sure that you discuss the quantity and type of food with your doctor to avoid adverse effects like bloating.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is one of the most popular natural remedies for uric acid since it helps the body flush out toxins and waste material. It has an alkalising effect on the body, fights inflammation, provides you with antioxidants, and helps get rid of excess uric acid well. In fact, it’s also used as a remedy to treat uric acid kidney stones. Here’s how people generally use it to lower uric acid levels: Dilute a teaspoon of organic unpasteurised apple cider vinegar with a cup of water, and drink up to thrice a day. Apple cider vinegar is a strong ingredient that can have serious side effects, so use it after getting medical advice.

4. Vitamin C

Foods rich in vitamin C may help in treatment for uric acid build up. Studies have found that when used in combination with uric acid remedies, it can contribute to improvement. Lemon juice, in particular, is quite helpful. This is not only because of vitamin C, but also due to its alkalising effect on the body. It has been found to help reduce uric acid levels. Squeeze the juice of a lemon into a cup of water and drink it first thing in the morning.
