4 Detox Tea Recipes With Powerful Ayurvedic Herbs

1. Stomach Soothing Fennel Tea

Proper digestion is absolutely crucial for your body to stay toxin free. Fennel and ginger have been treasured in Ayurvedic medicine for their digestion improving properties. They can heal inflammation, bloating, nausea, flatulence, constipation, diarrhoea, and can boost the absorption of nutrients from your food. This tea is wonderfully soothing for the digestive tract. Here’s more on the benefits of fennel tea.

You’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 2 cups of water

What to do:

Crush the fennel seeds and add them along with the ginger to the water. Bring it to a boil and then simmer for 10-12 minutes. Pour out and drink warm first thing in the morning.

2. Revitalising Tulsi Tea

Holy Basil, known as Tulsi in Ayurveda, is one of the most valued herbs in this healing system. This herb has a highly purifying effect on the system. It provides your body with antioxidants, reduces acidity, fights stress and anxiety, boosts immunity, improves digestion, and increases energy levels. We reckon it’s a great addition to your detox diet.

You’ll need:

  • 4 tablespoons Tulsi leaves
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Half teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 1.5 cups water

What to do:

Add all the ingredients except honey to the water and bring it to a boil. Then, simmer for 15 minutes. You can add honey to taste if you are not diabetic. Pour out and drink warm up to 3 times a day.

3. Citrusy Cinnamon Tea

If you are on a weight loss routine, chances are that you can benefit a whole lot from a simple cup of lemon and cinnamon tea. Lemon has loads of antioxidants, and have been found to have a cleansing effect on your system. Cinnamon reduces inflammation, boosts immunity, and gives your detox efforts a push. It may also reduce blood glucose levels.

You’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • Juice from half a lemon
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)

What to do:

Add the cinnamon powder to the water and bring it to a boil. Then, simmer for 10 minutes. Pour it into your cup and add the lemon juice. You can optionally sweeten it with honey. Enjoy fresh a few times a day.

4. Deep Cleansing ACV Tea

Apple cider vinegar is popular for its highly alkalising effects on the body. This ingredient has been found to help the body flush out toxins, reduce acidity, strengthen immunity, improve digestive health, and also help you shed weight. But always make sure that you dilute it well and use a straw while drinking it, because it can harm your teeth and throat.

You’ll need:

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup of warm water
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

What to do:

It’s super simple. Add the apple cider vinegar and honey (optional) to the warm water, stir well, and drink once a day.
