Chinese herbs and medicines have been popular since ancient times. They effectively work on your system to prevent as well as treat illnesses. One such herb is rehmannia root, also known as rehmannia glutinosa. It has medicinal properties to rid the body of discomforts that may otherwise disrupt one’s life.

What Is Rehmannia Glutinosa?

Ayurveda focuses on balancing the body’s vital forces. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes in the same concept. Rehmannia glutinosa helps balance yin energy. It prevents and cures several conditions related to the neurons, liver, kidney, skin as well as blood. This herb benefits you positively since it possesses a chemical called catalpol, which has antioxidant as well as anti-inflammatory properties.

Rehmannia Glutinosa Dosage

Rehmannia root or gehmannia glutinosa can be used in its dry form to prepare herbal decoctions or teas. The recommended dosage is about 15mg per day.

Preparation: Add a teaspoon of dry Rehmannia root powder to a cup of water. Boil the water and allow it to steep for 10 minutes. Strain the mixture and then drink once daily.

Rehmannia Benefits

1. Rehmannia Root Prevents Diabetes.

Rehmannia root consists of a compound called catapol that leaves an anti-diabetic effect on the body. It improves insulin resistance in those with type 2 diabetes. Therefore, rehmannia benefits by lowering the glucose levels in your blood.

2. It Helps Combat Osteoporosis.

Rehmannia glutinosa leaves a positive impact on conditions like osteoporosis. It also increases blood flow and aids proper functioning of your kidneys and liver.

3. It’s Good For Skin Health.

The rehmannia herb is anti-inflammatory medicine to soothe allergic reactions on the skin. Rehmannia benefits in treating conditions like atopic dermatitis. It suppresses the effects of cytokines, chemokines as well as adhesion molecules in the body.

4. Rehmannia Root Is Neuroprotective.

Rehmannia glutinosa prevents the loss of neurons in the brain. Therefore, rehmannia root shows impressive results on neurodegenerative conditions like dementia as well as Alzheimer’s disease.

5. It Helps Treat Fungal Infections.

Studies show that rehmannia root has the ability to treat infections. It kills harmful bacteria and viruses. Therefore, use rehmannia glutinosa for getting rid of rashes and redness on the skin.

6. It’s A Natural Painkiller.

Rehmannia benefits the body by reducing pain. But, how does rehmannia root cure pain? It has anti-inflammatory properties that help in relaxing the muscles. Therefore, pain associated with arthritis as well as osteoporosis is treatable with this herb.

7. Rehmannia Lowers Blood Pressure Levels.

Aggravated blood pressure is dangerous for health. Therefore, rehmannia benefits the condition by easing the blood flow in the body. It contains antioxidants that remove toxic buildup from the arteries, allowing better passage of blood.
