Arthritis in the back occurs due to breakage in the cartilage of joints as well as discs present in the neck and back. Spinal arthritis is a disease common among people above the age of 40. Lack of exercise as well as a proper diet worsens the spinal arthritis symptoms. Therefore, practice yoga daily along with applying these seven home remedies.

What Causes Arthritis In The Back?

  • Calcium deficiency
  • Irregular posture
  • Hormonal balance
  • Injury to a joint
  • Genetic defect of the cartilage

What Are The Spinal Arthritis Symptoms?

  • Stiffness in the neck and back
  • Weakness in legs and arms
  • Pain in the back

Spinal Arthritis Treatment

1. Hot/Cold Compresses Are Efficient.

Heat as well as cold compresses help relax the spinal muscles. Thus, soak a towel in cold or hot water. Squeeze out the excess and apply on your back. Repeat for 10 minutes or as long as required.

2. Turmeric Is Relieving.

Since turmeric has curcumin, it shows anti-arthritic effects. So, add half a teaspoon of turmeric in a cup of water and drink twice daily to alleviate the spinal arthritis symptoms.

3. Boswellia Oil Massage Is Effective.

Boswellia or Indian frankincense oil is a therapeutic oil that relieves the spinal arthritis symptoms. Thus, massage the spine with it to reduce pain as well as inflammation.

4. Rosehip Treats Arthritis In The Back.

Rosehip contains anthocyanins, which are anti-inflammatory as well as antioxidative in nature. Therefore, rinse, chop, and blend the rosehip tail to make a puree. Add a tablespoon of it in two cups of water. Boil for 10 minutes and strain. Drink warm to soothe the arthritis symptoms.

5. Comfrey Speeds The Healing Process.

Comfrey is rich in calcium, Vitamin C as well as allantoin, which is anti-inflammatory in nature. These help strengthen the bones, relax the muscles as well as heal arthritis in the back. Therefore, blend a handful of comfrey leaves to make a paste. Apply it onto the back and let it dry. Wash with plain water to clean the area.

6. Ginger Is Analgesic.

Since ginger contains gingerol, it leaves an anti-inflammatory impact on the body. So, in a cup of hot water, add a teaspoon of crushed ginger. Steep the tea for about 5 minutes and drink it warm twice every day. You can also massage your back with warm ginger oil to reduce the spinal arthritis pain.

7. Chamomile Tea Is A Herbal Aspirin.

This herb contains aspirin-like properties due to its anti-inflammatory as well as analgesic nature. It reduces the pain and swelling of spinal arthritis. Therefore, boil a teaspoon of chamomile tea leaves in a cup of water. Steep for 5 minutes and strain. Drink twice daily.
