Considering today’s lifestyle, maintaining your sleep as well as diet becomes pretty difficult. This lack eventually shows up on the outside – tired eyes, aging lines and lowering energy are a few prominent signs. Unmanageable routines, strenuous working in front of the computer, and prolonged stress lead to eye fatigue. However, with simple home remedies, you can get rid of eye strain and other related problems.

Eye strain can lead to irritation, redness, lack of concentration, dryness or watery eyes. Under severe cases, you may also feel sensitive to bright light, get headaches, and suffer from back pain.

So… How To Get Rid Of Tired Eyes?

1. Try Palming.

This is the most effective remedy to relieve your eye strain. It helps you stay wakeful as well as in a restful state. Rub both your palms to produce some warmth and place them over closed eyes for about 15-30 seconds. Do not apply any pressure and feel the darkness. Follow the process 2-4 times for better results.

2. Gently Massage Tired Eyes.

To relax your eye muscles and prevent dry or wet eyes, a soothing eye massage every day does wonders to keep away eye strain. Gently pinch your eyebrows from inside out. Take some olive or almond oil and in circular motions, massage the areas around your eyes including the under eyes, temples as well as the brows.

3. Splash Some Cold Water.

If you’ve been working on the computer or phone for too long, eye fatigue is bound to happen. Therefore, splashing some cold water helps get rid of eye strain along with puffiness and other discomforts. Be sure to splash gently, and the water shouldn’t be too cold.

4. Use Ice Or Cold Spoon Remedy For Eye Fatigue.

Wrap a cube of ice in a tissue paper of a soft handkerchief and place it directly over your eyelids. This will provide absolute freshness to your eyes and keep them energized all day long.

The spoon remedy acts like a cold compress for your eyes. Refrigerate the spoon for about 30 minutes. Hold it and gently place over your eyes. Apply some pressure and repeat on both sides. This will reduce eye strain along with under eye swelling.

6. Eye Strain? Stay Hydrated!

Drinking enough water is not only important for your overall health but also for better vision. When you stay hydrated is when it shows up on your skin as well as other organs of the body. So, make sure you drink at least 3L of water as this will keep away tired eyes.

7. Tea Bags Are Beneficial.

Use a regular black tea bag, green tea bag or a chamomile tea bag. All of these prevent under eye puffiness, reduce fine lines, eye stress and swelling. You just need to soak two tea bags in warm water for about 10 minutes. Strain the excess water and place over your eyelids. Let these stay for some time and repeat the process twice daily. Refrigerate and use them as a cool compress to relax tired eyes.
