Have you been bothering about the lumpy fat in your thighs, hips or abdomen? Chances are that you’ll end up on the look out for tips to permanently remove cellulite. Ayurveda says that if you have cellulite, there’s a problem with your lymph system. So, cellulite is an indicator of a health problem. But worry not! You can get rid of it using natural techniques. Here are some effective ways to treat cellulite with Ayurveda.

    Why do I have Cellulite?

Cellulite is made up of fat deposits. The obvious drawback of having it is that you might find it aesthetically undesirable. But there’s more to it. According to Ayurveda, cellulite problems are rooted in your body’s agni or fire. Agni is linked to metabolism. When your body doesn’t digest your food properly, it leads to the collection of toxins in your gut. This then travels to other parts of your body and gets stored in the form of fat, causing cellulite.

Ways to Treat Cellulite with Ayurveda

    1. Udvartana

This is a popular technique for toning the body and burning off cellulite. Udvartana is a dry massage done with herbal powders like turmeric, chickpea flour, and fenugreek powder. It not only initiates fat burning, but also opens up blockages in your body.

    1. Oil Massage

You can get an Ayurvedic oil massage that’s designed specifically for tackling cellulite. It involves using same amounts of sesame oil and mustard oil. After the massage, the Ayurvedic expert rubs a powder derived from calamus.

    1. Gharsana

Gharsana is a kind of dry massage that involves using gloves made of raw silk. This helps remove your cellulite by improving the circulation of blood, exfoliating your skin, and loosening up the lumps of fat.

    1. Virechana

Virechana is also among the popular ways to treat cellulite with Ayurveda, and it is a part of Panchakarma treatment. Here, you would consume herbal medicines that trigger your body to flush out all the toxins that have built up over time. Besides burning off your cellulite, it has a thorough cleansing effect.

    1. Yoga Asanas

As you already know, yoga is a part of Ayurveda that offers solutions to a vast variety of problems, including cellulite. Under the guidance of a yoga expert, practice the following asanas:

    • Salabhasana (locust pose)
    • Utkatasana (chair pose)
    • Dandayamana dhanurasana (standing bow pose)
    • Supta vajrasana(reclining adamant pose)
    • Ardha chandrasana (half-moon pose)
    • Dhanurasana (bow pose)

    Eat Right to Burn Cellulite…

Your diet is extremely important when it comes to dealing with cellulite. So, here are some tips to combine with your treatment:

    • Eat warm, light, fresh and whole foods.
    • Eat 3 meals daily. Stick to your eating routine.
