Anxiety and stress are our loyal companions. They wake up with us, work with us and sleep with us! We make decisions together and are even getting crazy together. Nervousness on a constant basis can bring unexplainable emotional turmoil. Do not let it conquer your happiness and learn how to control anxiety to kill it within minutes.

How To Control Anxiety? Take Note Of These!

1. Acceptance Is Key

Anxiety attacks are a real thing. Accept it. And then try to move on! You feel anxious, do not deny the fact. Accept that there’s something wrong but do blame or victimise yourself for it. Simply start working towards the solutions. Talk to yourself or with a loved one or discuss it with your doctor.

2. Diversion Does It All

You need to channelise your energy. Be it just another anxious moment or during your ongoing treatment, calm yourself with other activities. Getting out of an anxiety attack isn’t easy. But, avoiding circumstances and triggers that cause attacks – this is manageable. It’s an effective way to fight anxiety.

3. Let It Out

How can you easily deal with anxiety? Vent it out. It helps. Suppression will only lead to an extreme outbreak, that too at a much later stage. In case you are in a situation where this isn’t possible, call someone close to you. Cry the tensions out. The two really help.

4. Are You Caring For Yourself?

Take care of yourself. You are important! And you are your own golden investment. Make time for yourself and understand your worth.

5. Sleep Well

Get enough sleep, or else it’ll start affecting you both physically as well as mentally. Lack of sleep leads to even more stressful situations. When dealing with anxiety, you must plan for at least an 8 hour long undisturbed sleep. You will feel a difference!

6. Eat Right

Anxiety strikes you sharp. It changes your appetite. You either lower your diet or you crave too much. But, you have to ensure you are feeding the right foods to yourself. Incorporate more vitamin B and omega 3 rich edibles. Even whole grains promote your feel good hormones.

7. Meditate

Meditation is relaxing. It essentially rewires your brain to produce positive effects and help you find answers to those anxiety-provoking questions. So, when you understand your brain signals is when you stop letting the stressful symptoms affect you.

8. Practice Silence

Now, this doesn’t mean you’ll cut yourself from the outside world and dive into negativity. Practising silence is a very important exercise for dealing with anxiety. Even if it’s for 10 minutes, plan what’s doable. No phone, no computer, no emails, nothing! Amidst all the ruckus of your life, schedule that sacred and silent ‘me time’.

9. Express Gratitude

This is one of the basic ways of dealing with anxiety. How to control anxiety with gratitude? It keeps you well rested. And a mind that appreciates is the mind that feels less overwhelmed.
