Did you know that there are over 1,000 varieties of banana all over the world? The banana benefits for health are many – its uses range from improving digestion to busting stress and improving sleep. Did you know that there are also plenty of banana benefits for beauty? This nutrient-packed fruit can do wonders for your skin as well as hair.

6 Banana Benefits For Skin And Hair

1. Banana For Puffy Eyes

Among the lesser-known banana uses for beauty is puffy eyes treatment. Whenever you are greeted by puffy eyes in the mirror in the morning, don’t panic – head to your kitchen, grab a banana, and place the peels on your eyes for about 25 minutes. Once you take them off, splash cold water on your face. Voila!

2. Banana For Greasy Skin

There are excellent uses of banana for those with oily skin troubles. While they have moisturising effects, they also balance the skin’s oiliness. Here’s what to do. Mash a ripe banana and mix a tsp of fresh lemon juice into it. Rub it onto your skin and rinse off with lukewarm water after 10 minutes. If it is too drying for you, follow up with a mild moisturiser.

3. Banana For Hair Growth

Among the top benefits of banana for hair is hair growth. It nourishes and moisturises the scalp, which gets rid of hair fall. Here’s a super-simple DIY banana hair mask recipe. Add 1 ripe banana, ½ tsp raw honey, and 1 tbsp coconut oil to your blender. Give the ingredients a whirl until they form a smooth paste. Massage it onto your scalp and wash off with mild shampoo after half an hour.

4. Banana For Acne

After reading about the benefits of banana for acne, you’ll never throw away a banana peel again! They reduce inflammation and fight off pimple-causing bacteria on your skin. All you need to you is drop a bit of honey on the inside of a banana peel, and hold the peel onto the affected area.

5. Banana For Blemishes

What’s more annoying than acne? The scars it leaves behind! Freedom from blemishes of many kinds is also among the banana peel benefits. The pulp of the fruit works just as well too. Either use the banana peel recipe we shared with you a moment ago, or apply a mashed ripe banana onto your skin.

6. Banana For Dry And Dull Hair

Banana is excellent for dry and dull hair. It supplies the scalp with moisture, as well as nutrients like vitamin E and potassium. When combined with coconut milk, it makes for a sure-shot remedy. Blend 2 ripe bananas, ½ cup coconut milk and 1 tsp honey to form a smooth paste. Massage it onto your scalp and wash off after about half an hour.
