  • 6. Tea Tree Essential Oil

Although it’s common and generally harmless, having a stye on your eye can get utterly painful and bothersome. Styes usually heal in a matter of weeks. But if you want freedom from the trouble of having to walk around with one, you can use these natural home remedies for styes.

6 Natural Home Remedies For Styes

1. Coriander Seed Water

The first stye cure home remedy we’re going to talk to you about is coriander seeds. These seeds can fight the inflammation on your skin as well as relieve the pain and itchiness. It is a widely used remedy because it has zero side effects and works super fast.

What to do:

Boil a tablespoon of coriander seeds in a cup of water. Once it reaches a boil, turn off the heat and let it reach room temperature. After that, simply strain the solution and put it on your stye. You can do this a few times a day.

2. Tea Bag Compress

Tea bags are another popular remedy. Black tea fights the infection as well as reduces the swelling. Tea bags can be wonderfully soothing. Putting them on your eyes will also let them have some much-needed rest.

What to do:

Prepare a cup of tea with the bag. Remove the tea bag and let it cool down. And then, simply put it on top of the styes. Relax for 15 minutes and then take it off. Always remember to use a new tea bag each time.

3. Cucumber Slices

With their cooling, hydrating, inflammation reducing and pain relieving effects, cucumbers are excellent home remedies for styes. And they are safe to use for children too. In case you don’t have cucumbers, you can also use tomatoes.

What to do:

Simply slice up a cucumber and place two pieces on your eyes. Let it do its work for about 10-15 minutes and then throw it away. Like with tea bags, always use new slices. You can do it 3-4 times a day.

4. Turmeric Water

Turmeric is among Ayurveda’s most powerful herbs with a variety of medicinal uses. It also happens to be a stye remedy. Turmeric has antiseptic, antibacterial as well as anti-inflammatory qualities that can boost the rate of healing.

What to do:

Prepare a stye healing liquid with turmeric and water. Add 3 teaspoons of turmeric to 2 cups of water. Turn up the heat. When water boils down to 1 cup, strain it into another container and let it cool down. Rinse your eyes with this twice a day.

5. Aloe Vera Juice

Our next stye cure home remedy is aloe Vera, also a potent Ayurvedic herb with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s great for soothing and moisturising irritated skin. It also relieves pain.

What to do:

Get yourself an aloe Vera leaf and slice it open. Collect the juice from it with and just apply it on your style. Rinse it off with mildly warm water after 10 minutes. Do it up to twice a day.

6. Tea Tree Essential Oil

The last home remedy for styes is Tea tree oil. This essential oil eases skin irritation, fights microbes, fungi and parasites, and reduces swelling as well as pain. Make sure that you use pure and good quality Tea tree oil.

What to do:

Add 3 drops of Tea tree essential oil to 2 tablespoons of cool water. Stir it well and apply it onto your skin. Wash it off after an hour. You can do this a few times a day.
