A relative of the sunflower, arnica is an important homeopathic herb. Native to Europe, it has been used for centuries. It’s also called mountain tobacco (because shepherds used to smoke it!), wolf’s bane, and leopard’s bane. It’s most often used as an oil, but is also available in the form of a cream, gel, tea, and tincture. Here are the many things this powerful herb can treat.

Health Benefits Of Arnica

1. It Busts Stress And Relieves Depression

Arnica tea is widely used to reduce stress levels, soothe depressive feelings, and relax the body. It can bring about a significant difference in your moods, and hence can also treat related problems like insomnia. It’s important to note that you shouldn’t drink the tea since it’s poisonous – the best way is to pour it into a warm bath.

2. It Gets Rid Of Skin Infections

This herb is great for skin issues like eczema, infections, and general irritation. It soothes the skin wonderfully, helps wounds heal at a better rate, and can fight off infections on the skin. So if you suffer from any of these issues, consider using a medicine containing arnica.

3. It Heals Bruises And Minor Burns

A popular use of this herb is healing minor skin burns and bruises. It improves blood flow towards the affected area, lowers inflammation and swelling, and promotes faster healing. A common way to use arnica for burns and bruises is in the form of a warm infusion. Here are some more remedies for burned skin you could try.

4. It Improves Dental Health

If you have foul breath, plaque, toothache or gingivitis, speak to your doctor about the potential of this herb to treat your condition. You can get yourself a mouthwash containing arnica, which can easily get rid of infections, pain, and bad breath.

5. It Helps Heal Injuries

Another very popular arnica health benefit is injury healing. The oil of this herb is considered a powerful healer of injuries, especially those resulting from inflammation. It reduces the swelling, improves blood circulation, boosts the flow of white blood cells, relaxes the muscles, and relieves pain.

6. It Fights Hair Fall

Hair fall can be a scary thing to experience. While genetics have a lot to do with it, there are ways to stop it and gain back some thickness. Arnica hair oil is an excellent natural remedy for hair fall. Simply massage your scalp with it regularly, and this will provide your scalp with the needed nourishment to grow healthy hair.

7. It Improves Your Skin.

Last up is skin health. This herb can make your skin glow! That’s because it has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial properties, along with antioxidants. All of these help tackle issues like acne, blemishes, and dullness. You end up with gorgeous looking skin.
