It’s a common result of drinking more than 4-5 cups a day over a period of time. But brushing your teeth or gargling after drinking tea can reduce this effect.
2. Black Tea Causes Sleeplessness.
Is black tea healthy? Sure. But not if you often drink it past the afternoon, since the caffeine content can interfere with the body’s delicate sleep-wake cycle. As the day progresses, your body produces lower amounts of stress hormones and increases sleep hormones. Since black tea has the opposite effect, the obvious result is sleeping troubles.
3. Black Tea Can Trouble Your Tummy.
As you know, black tea has caffeine. Caffeine disturbs the natural pH balance of the digestive system, pushing it more to the acidic side. It can worsen stomach ulcers and heartburn. Yes, black tea may actually make you feel fatigued. That’s because although it causes an initial energy boost, you end up feeling tired and irritable once the effects wear off. This is even more severe if you take your tea with white sugar. Over time, these unnatural energy fluctuations can tire your body. So, keep the black tea side effects on your energy levels in mind before you drink too much.
So, is black tea good for health? Only if you drink it in moderate amounts, not more than 3-4 cups a day. As Ayurveda always says, listen to your body. If you notice signs that a certain food is causing it harm, respect your body enough to abstain from it.
