What alternatives do we have when we’re forced to buy a produce loaded with toxins? How do we safeguard our family’s health from the poisonous chemicals found on our fruits and veggies? Simple rinsing with water doesn’t get rid of the harmful pesticides or wax coatings as these chemicals aren’t water soluble. So this confusion always reigns our mind as to how & what do we eat that does not deteriorate our health.

Moreover, Ayurveda states that the veggies and fruits have life force or prana and they too absorb the good or bad energies around them. If the grocer is upset or angry over something, his negative vibes are sure to get absorbed inside the produce and make way inside our body.

Even though man has ruined Mother Nature for materialistic gains by adopting unnatural means against the laws of nature, yet she offers natural ways to recover from those mistakes & safeguard his health.

Here are some natural cleansers to wash off those harmful pesticides and also the negative energies from your daily food before they enter your system and create havoc.

1. Soak In Vinegar

Take four parts of water & one part of vinegar. Soak your fruits & vegetables in this solution for half to one hour. Then rinse and thoroughly scrub your produce with cold water. Utilize lemon juice if you do not have vinegar.

2. Saltwater Rinse

This is another great method. Just mix 1 to 2 tbsp of salt along with 4 cups of warm water in a large bowl and soak your produce for an hour. Hand scrub the produce & rinse off.

This method doesn’t apply to fragile fruits like berries whose taste gets changed by soaking in salt water.

3. Lemon wash

Take 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp baking soda, one cup water and stir well. Use this as a spray. Let the fruits or veggies sit for about 5-10 minutes and then wash off with water.

4. Homemade spray

For general use: Make a spray by mixing 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp white vinegar, and one cup water. Shake vigorously and spray on the produce. Rub for at least 30 seconds and then rinse thoroughly in cold water. It is the next best thing after a salt or vinegar solution soak.

To remove wax: Prepare a spray by mixing a dash of grapefruit seed extract, one cup water, half cup vinegar, and 1 tbsp baking soda. One hour before eating, spray the mixture on your produce & rinse thoroughly.

5. Peel Your Produce

Peeling the fruits & vegetables that have a removable skin (like of orange, potato, avocado) is an effective method for reducing most of the chemical residue on your fresh food. In case of cabbage, lettuce, celery, and other leafy vegetables you should cut away the top and the outer sections as bacteria tend to accumulate in those areas.

So now make sure you adopt these easy to follow techniques in your daily regime and do share with your friends and family.
