If you’re having trouble with your bowels, you need to make a few diet tweaks. Sometimes, just eating a bunch of fruits can do enough to get rid of the problem entirely. So, here are the top 7 fruits for constipation relief you can try.

Top 7 Fruits For Constipation Relief

1. Passion Fruit

On the top of the list is passion fruit. This super food provides you with some of the highest fibre content. So, it works excellently. If you tend to have constipation often, make sure that you add this fruit to your daily diet. However, eat it in moderation with other fibre filled foods since excess of fibre can cause harm too.

2. Pears

Pears are among the best fruits to eat during the winter. They provide you with fibre, as well as other nutrients like vitamin C, folate, and beta-carotene. The best part is that pears contain nearly no fat. So if you are on a weight loss diet but also need to tackle constipation, reach out for a couple of pears. Remember to eat them with the skin.

3. Oranges

Did you know that vitamin C helps relieve constipation? That’s because it has laxative abilities. Oranges, as you already know, are an incredibly high source of this vitamin. At the same time, they are rich in fibre that improves bowel movement. Moreover, oranges are also highly hydrating. You will need plenty of water for constipation treatment. Eat the whole fruit rather than drinking the juice.

4. Bananas

Bananas are popular anti-constipation fruits. They are very soothing for the stomach and are a high source of fibre too. So, enjoy a banana along with your morning oatmeal. Or simply add it to a fruit smoothie for better bowel movements. However, please note that unripe bananas can actually aggravate the condition. Stick to ripe bananas.

5. Pomegranates

Next on the list of fruits for constipation is pomegranate. This fruit is another great source of fibre. It is quite hydrating too. And it’s a rich source of antioxidants. Enjoy pomegranates whole, or sprinkle the seeds into your salads and oatmeal. Here is an article about the impressive benefits of pomegranates for skin.

6. Prunes

Dried fruits are incredibly healthy. They pack quite a nutrient punch. And they also supply you with much-needed fibre for treating constipation. Prunes are especially helpful since they contain a lot of soluble as well as insoluble fibre. What’s more, prunes provide you with sorbitol, which has been found to heal constipation. They also offer a bunch of health benefits.

7. Avocado

Last up is avocado, a popular superfood with a variety of uses. Avocados owe their creaminess to their fibre content, apart from fat. In fact, they have more fibre than bananas! And these fruits are wonderfully versatile. You can add them to salads, stews, soups, and even use them as a spread. Enjoy a couple of avocados everyday for constipation relief. Just make sure that you don’t overeat them if you are watching your weight.
