Hemochromatosis in simple words is an iron overload. It eventually leads to iron poisoning or iron toxicity which in turn may cause an organ failure. Abdominal pain, high blood sugar, and hypothyroidism are a few hemochromatosis symptoms. Therefore, a hemochromatosis diet as well as home remedies are an essential hemochromatosis treatment.

What Is Hemochromatosis?

Too much iron consumption (iron overload) leads to a condition called hemochromatosis a.k.a. Celtic curse. Excessive iron accumulates in the pancreas, liver, as well as the heart. And in case of no proper treatment, the disease can be fatal.

What Are The Hemochromatosis Causes?

  • Genetic
  • Toxic or damaged liver
  • Adrenal disorder
  • Heart disease

What Are The Hemochromatosis Symptoms?

  • Abdominal pain
  • Lack of menstruation
  • Loss of libido
  • Male impotence
  • Reduced size of testicles
  • Weakness as well as fatigue
  • Weight loss
  • High blood sugar level
  • Hypothyroidism

What’s The Hemochromatosis Diet?

Hemochromatosis is an incurable disease. However, a right diet keeps the condition under control. As the body absorbs more than normal amounts of iron, you need to do the opposite. Stop consuming foods that contain iron, vitamin C, raw seafood as well as alcohol. Experts also advise you to keep donating blood as that helps get rid of the excess iron in the body. But donate within limits!

Hemochromatosis Treatment

1. Turmeric Reduces The Hemochromatosis Symptoms.

To alleviate the hemochromatosis symptoms, drink this mix every day – in a cup of boiling coconut milk, add about 2 tablespoons of turmeric powder, ½ teaspoon black pepper powder and ½ cup filtered water along with a teaspoon coconut oil. Drink it warm and feel the difference.

2. Gingko Leaves Help Get Rid Of Iron Overload.

Drink about 120 ml of fresh gingko leaf extract every day. Since these are rich in antioxidants, your blood circulation as well as the heart’s functioning will significantly improve.

3. Include Milk Thistle In The Hemochromatosis Diet.

Since milk thistle is loaded with antioxidants, it helps reduce the hemochromatosis symptoms along with the associated discomforts. So, crush some dry milk thistle seeds to form a powder and consume it on a daily basis. This is an effective hemochromatosis treatment.

4. Black Tea Alleviates The Iron Overload.

Black tea helps reduce the iron absorption by almost 80%. So, it is recommended to drink black tea after your meals or twice every day. Peppermint, chamomile, as well as lime flower teas, also help ease the hemochromatosis symptoms.
