Platelets in the blood are those tiny cells that protect your body against excessive blood loss. They maintain the clotting ability of your blood in the case of injury. Ideally, the levels must remain between 1,50,000 to 4,50,000 platelets per ml of the blood circulating. But if the levels drop below this range, you’ll be able to experience visible signs. So, you must be aware of the condition, symptoms of low platelet count as well as how to increase blood platelets.

What Causes A Low Platelet Count?

3. Pregnancy

4. Anemia

1. Pomegranate

Pomegranate has got your back. It has medicinal and nutritional properties. This delicious fruit boosts your immune system as well as provides you with loads of antioxidants.

2. Papaya

How to increase blood platelets with papaya? Eat the pulp of a ripe papaya. Or, you could also prepare a juice with some papaya leaves. Both the remedies are especially helpful for the patients of dengue.

3. Wheatgrass

One of the best natural remedies for low platelets is wheatgrass. It has high medicinal and nutritional values. So, it will provide you with an immediate boost. Take wheatgrass on a regular basis, and this will certainly improve the levels of hemoglobin in your body.

4. Pumpkin

Pumpkin helps regulate the production of protein cells in your body. This is an important process to support the development of your blood platelets. Half a glass pumpkin juice with some honey will provide you with benefits.

5. Vitamin A

Sweet potato, kale as well as carrots contain plenty of Vitamin A. They boost the formation of platelets in your body.

6. Folate-Rich Foods

Folate deficiency can often lead to low platelet count. However, a diet rich in folate can rapidly increase the cell reproduction. So eating foods like asparagus, kidney beans, peanuts and black-eyed peas can be rather helpful.

7. Vitamin K

Eat leafy Greens like spinach, fenugreek leaves, Brussels sprouts and Swiss chard. Other foods like cucumbers and plums are also among the best Vitamin K rich foods. These foods increase the rate of blood clotting.
