Honey is believed to be a golden elixir worldwide and the benefits of honey are various. It holds special importance in the Ayurvedic texts. In olden times, honey was served to the Gods as a symbol of love. And in current times, honey still has the same significance.

10 Benefits Of Honey

1. Alternative To Sugar

This sugary substance is a healthy and natural alternative to the oh-so-harmful (and processed) white sugar. Honey also keeps your body’s blood sugar levels regulated and under control.

2. Has Prebiotic Benefits

Do not confuse this with probiotics which are different from what honey is – a prebiotic. It acts as a food for the (good) gut bacteria to increase their amount and aid one’s digestion.

3. Nourishes Your Skin

Is honey good for health? It’s exceptionally beneficial for your skin health! Apply some honey on your skin and wash off with lukewarm water the next morning for clear and radiating skin. When used overnight, honey absorbs into your skin and heals its texture. It can also tackle skin allergies.

4. Relieves Cough

The antibacterial properties of honey naturally soothe your throat to treat cough. In a glass of lukewarm water, mix a tablespoon of honey with some salt. Then, gargle with this solution at regular intervals to reap the benefits of honey.

5. Provides A Quick Energy Boost

Benefits of honey also include a kick of energy that’s sufficient to keep you going through the day. Daily, have some organic (buckwheat) honey to boost your system and maintain its endurance for a longer time period.

6. Strengthens Your Immunity

What are the uses of honey for health? It builds a strong immune system! Honey is rich in antioxidants along with being antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory. When eaten regularly as the first thing in the morning, it strengthens your immunity and enhances your vitality.

7. Effectively Heals Your Wounds

Make it a daily routine to dress your wounds with sterilized gauze and finish it off with some honey brushed on top of it. Dispose it off by night and repeat next morning.

8. Aids The Weight Loss Process

In a glass of warm water, mix and drink a tablespoon of honey, some freshly squeezed lemon juice and 3 to 5 drops of apple cider vinegar. This efficiently gets rid of excess stubborn fat from your body.

9. Works As A Sleep Inducer

Honey works especially well to regulate better sleeping patterns. Drink a glass of warm milk with honey to feel better throughout the night. Or you can even sip a cup of chamomile tea with a tsp of honey to gain the benefits.

10. Relieves Anxiety

Twice a day, drink a glass of organic orange juice mixed with honey and just a pinch of nutmeg powder to naturally cure all the symptoms of anxiety.
