Roses are synonymous with love, beauty, romance, aroma, and forgiveness. This king of flowers is also held high for its medicinal properties. One of the most natural, sweet and evergreen preserves of roses is Gulkand or the rose petal jam. It’s a Vata as well as a Pitta pacifying preparation that cools the mind, hydrates your skin and leaves a therapeutic effect on all six senses. Gulkand benefits your system in ways you cannot even think of!

Also, the homemade gulkand recipe is quite simple. All you need are some rose petals and powdered sugar/ misri or honey. Mix the ingredients and store in a glass jar under direct sunlight. Relish once it softens. Drink gulkand milk or have it straight from the jar – choose your way.

Gulkand Benefits

1. It’s A General Health Tonic.

In general, Gulkand benefits the entire system. It helps get rid of mental stress, fatigue as well as muscular pains. It’s also been a potent remedy for improving memory power.

2. It Assists In Fertility Problems.

Since gulkand benefits in reducing the oxidative stress, it has several wonderful qualities. Rose leaves when soaked and stored with misri (candy sugar), become absolutely cooling, nourishing as well as invigorating for the reproductive system.

This Ayurvedic preparation maintains the production of Oxytocin to ensure a healthy sex drive. Gulkand also increases the chances of getting pregnant, strengthens the uterus and improves sperm quality. Warm gulkand milk is great for such issues.

3. It Improves Your Love Life.

Roses help you stay sexually active. They have a sedative effect on the brain to freshen up your mood. Having gulkand milk every day stimulates the working of Prana Vata. It governs the nervous system making you highly reactive towards sexual desires and that pleasurable touch.

Another aspect gulkand takes care of is the Sadhaka Pitta balance. This governs feelings of belief, creativity, mental energy, and self-confidence. It revitalizes the mind and gets you in sync with your partner’s energy. Regular use of rose petal jam makes you less frigid, more emotionally stable and keeps you energized.

4. It Relieves Constipation.

Not just for pregnant women, rose petal jam is also good for kids. A dosage of about 20 grams for adults and 5 grams for kids helps ease their stools. Adults can have it twice and kids can have it once daily – 1 hour after breakfast as well as an hour before sleeping – with water or milk to relieve constipation.

5. Gulkand Benefits To Cool The Body.

Rose jam is particularly helpful in soothing Pitta-related disorders. Therefore, it reduces excess heat in the body. This prevents nosebleeding, dizziness, heat exhaustion, sunstroke and more.

What Else?

Gulkand benefits are immense. Apart from spreading positivity, here’s what rose jam can do:

  • It’s a natural anti-aging solution.
  • It fastens the metabolism.
  • It corrects digestive issues.
  • Gulkand is heart-healthy.
  • It helps purify the blood.
  • Rose jam improves eyesight.
  • It can reduce foul yellow or white discharge in women.
  • It eases the menstrual flow.
  • Gulkand milk can reduce the effect of allopathic medicines, piles, acne and more.
