How to be happy? The countless circumstances we face in life may or not be in our control. But to keep yourself happy is always completely in our own hands. Nobody has the responsibility nor the capability of making you happy but You yourself. And how do you do that? By forming happy habits consciously and sincerely. If you want to be a happy person, read on about some habits of happy people that will transform your life.

Habits Of Happy People 

1. Put On A Smile.

A smile is the first visible sign of a happy person. A smile not only makes you look good but also feel good, because it literally reduces cortisol and increases serotonin in your body. And it does not end there. The people you smile at will smile back at you!

2. Be Thankful For Everything.

No one can say they have all they want. But most of us do have all we need. And it is not what we have that can keep us happy – it’s our feelings of thankfulness and contentment. So be grateful for all the little things, and see how how happy you feel.

3. Look At The Positive Side.

Being positive in life is one of the major habits of happy people. Happy people always look at the brighter side of things. Accept what comes your way and make the best of it. Every situation is either good or bad, depending on where you take it.

4. Be Of Help To Someone.

There is always someone you can help if you just look around. Something you can do that will make them happy. And you know what, when you help others, you release hormones like dopamine and serotonin in your brain. You invite more positive energy into your life.

5.Laugh Out Loud.

Laughing activates the happy hormone oxytocin. So why not take this 100% effective with no-side-effects medicine everyday? This is one of the best positive habits. You can laugh with someone, join a laughter club, watch funny shows, read humorous books…whichever way you like it. Laugh the blues away.

6. Connect With Your Inner Self.

Do you love yourself? Learn to look within and embrace the good as well as “bad” parts of yourself. Develop compassion towards your weaknesses, forgive your mistakes, and nurture your soul with self-love on a daily basis. Such positive habits bring a lot of joy.

7. Sleep Well.

How can sleeping well be habits of happy people, you may wonder. When you sleep sound and wake up feeling refreshed, you start the day on a positive note and experience lower stress levels in the long run. And how do you form this habit? Here are some Ayurvedic tips.

8. Forgive And Move On.

Forgiveness does a lot of good, and is among the most important happy habits. Unforgiveness leads to a lot of negative feelings like anger and depression. Harbouring such feelings for too long can also cause you health issues. So practise positive habits like forgiveness. You will feel light, peaceful, and capable of joy.

9. Make Time For Loved Ones.

One best happy habits is nurturing relationships that last for life. Happy people make time for their loved ones and value their presence in their lives. Being with loved ones makes us feel happy, secure, and loved. It may be a bit difficult all the time, but do it as often as you can.
