Your thyroid gland is located on the base of the neck. It is linked to the proper functioning of all the body organs, their growth as well as metabolic development. Hypothyroidism a.k.a underactive thyroid is a disorder where thyroid hormones are produced in a much lesser amount. The condition of hypothyroidism causes sudden changes in your weight, metabolism as well as overall energy levels. No matter what, you cannot completely get rid of the ailment – but the hypothyroidism treatment can include home remedies along with other primary care medications to alleviate the hypothyroidism symptoms.

What Are Hypothyroidism Causes?

  • Iodine deficiency
  • Pituitary or hypothalamic disorders
  • Medications
  • A defect in the thyroid gland
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Old Age

What Are Hypothyroidism Symptoms?

  • Weight gain
  • Depression
  • Constipation
  • Fatigue
  • High blood pressure
  • Dry and puffy facial skin
  • Slow heart rate
  • Less sweating
  • Sensitive skin
  • Muscle ache and joint pain
  • Impaired memory
  • Thin and dry hair

Hypothyroidism Treatment

1. Soothe The Symptoms With Rosemary Oil.

Since rosemary essential oil is anti-inflammatory in nature, it allows better secretion of the thyroid hormones. So, take some of it with coconut oil and massage the important pressure points – base of the throat, feet as well as the middle of the lower leg – until the oil gets absorbed.

2. Flaxseeds Are Beneficial.

Flaxseeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids to help regulate the production of your thyroid hormones. So, take one tablespoon of flaxseed powder and drink it with a glass of milk twice daily.

3. Bid Adieu To Underactive Thyroid With Bladderwrack.

If iodine deficiency is one of the major hypothyroidism causes, use bladderwrack. Take two teaspoons bladderwrack herb powder and add it to a cup of hot water. Steep for about 5 minutes and then strain it. Upon cooling, add some honey and drink the tea twice a day.

4. Nettle Tea Is A Perfect Hypothyroidism Treatment.

Stinging nettle tea is rich in minerals as well as vitamins like iodine and vitamin C. Therefore, it soothes the hypothyroidism symptoms. Take one teaspoon of nettle tea leaves and boil them in a cup of water. Steep for 5 minutes and strain thereafter. Add honey once the tea cools and drink twice daily.

5. Befriend Black Walnuts To Cure Hypothyroidism Symptoms.

Black walnuts contain vitamin B6, C, magnesium and iodine. Therefore, underactive thyroid or hypothyroidism symptoms like digestion issues and iodine deficiency can be cured with it. Take one glass of water and add 2 to 3 drops of black walnut extract in it. Mix well and consume two times in a day.
