Need A Home Remedy For Back Pain? Try These.

    More and more people today suffer from various kinds of back pain. This has a lot to do with long sitting hours at the workplace, heavy use of gadgets, and poor posture. Not too surprisingly, studies have found that chronic stress can also lead to severe back pain. In most cases, a natural home remedy for back pain can provide relief and make your road to recovery smoother.

    Need A Home Remedy For Back Pain? Try These.

    1. Ginger

    Ginger is one of the popular natural remedies for back pain caused by inflammation. This herb, studies confirm, has potent anti-inflammatory as well as pain relieving properties. In fact, it’s just as effective as over the counter medications. Ginger has been used for hundreds of years to treat muscle pain and arthritis too. You can rub ginger oil on the area, add ginger pieces to a warm compress, or simply drink ginger infused warm water a few times a day.

    2. Yoga

    Next up, yoga is an excellent home remedy for lower back pain. It stretches the back, corrects posture, and releases pain as well as stress from the body. It also relaxes the nerves, helping you sleep – something that can be difficult when your body aches. If your lower back pain is because of tight hamstrings, the Downward Dog (Adho Mukho Svanasana) Pose can be of great help. Contact a trained yoga expert and learn these yoga poses for lower back pain.

    3. Hot and Cold Therapy

    How to cure back pain naturally? Hot and cold therapy is a common answer. It’s simple, yet super effective. Heat works to increase blood circulation in the body, which helps by boosting the nutrient supply needed for recovery. It also relaxes the muscles and provides pain relief. Heat application is great for those who have joint pain in cold weather. Cold therapy takes care of the inflammation and reduces pain by numbing the nerves.

    To give your back heat, use warm water, hot water flasks, or any kind of heating pads and packs. And for cold therapy, use cold water, ice packs, or any kind of cooling pads. Apply them one after the other for 10-15 minutes.

    Caution: Be sure to consult your doctor before using heat and cold – since in some types of back pain, either one of them could worsen the condition.

    4. Eucalyptus

    You can also use Eucalyptus in your home treatment for back pain. This fragrant herb reduces swelling and inflammation, improves blood circulation, and reduces pain. It also creates a cool sensation on the skin, which can be quite comforting for certain kinds of back pain. Rub some Eucalyptus essential oil onto your skin and later on, apply a heating pad onto it for 5 minutes. You can also use Eucalyptus essential oil for aromatherapy. This is especially effective for stress induced back pain – but it also generally helps since it can help you relax and sleep better.

    5. Rest

    Rest is an important yet often overlooked home remedy for back pain. Your body needs plenty of sleep for it to repair itself. Moreover, lack of it can even cause or worsen back pain – or any other kind of pain, for that matter. So make sure that you take some time off and unwind!
