In Ayurveda, black tea is not always considered a healthy drink – while it’s good for Kaphas, it’s too aggravating for Vatas. But as a home remedy, there are many excellent uses of black tea in Ayurveda that everyone can try. With its range of medicinal properties, black tea can be quite the health-booster. So today, we’ll show you how to reap the many black tea benefits as an easy home remedy.

Uses Of Black Tea

1. Black Tea Boosts Oral Health.

One of the noteworthy health benefits of black tea is better oral health. With its antibacterial and astringent properties, black tea works as an effective remedy against foul breath. It fights bacteria that cause tooth decay. It can also prevent gum disease. Simply sip on some plain black tea for these benefits. Vatas, or anyone sensitive to caffeine, need not swallow.

2. Black Tea Reduces Eye Bags & Dark Circles.

Dark circles and eye bags are unfortunately an invitable result of ageing and genetics. BUT in cases where they result from other factors like fatigue, stress, and insomnia, black tea can help. Every day, make a cup of black tea and let the tea bags cool down. Then, place them over your eyes for about 20 minutes.

3. Black Tea For Weight Loss Works Well.

Next on the health benefits of black tea list is weight loss. Since it pacifies Kapha dosha, drinking black tea every day can effectively reduce weight. It stimulates and speeds up metabolism, thus helping your body burn fat at a better rate. Moreover, it has diuretic effects, meaning that it causes urination – which reduces water retention. Just skip the sugar and milk.

4. Black Tea Treats Sunburned Skin.

Next on the list of black tea benefits is for your skin. Black tea is excellent for soothing and healing sunburned skin. And the pain relief is rather quick too. Brew a cup of tea and cool it down in the fridge for about an hour. After that, dip a clean cloth in the tea and place it on your skin for about 20 minutes. In case of moderate-to-severe burns, see a doctor.

5. Black Tea Tightens Skin Pores.

Kapha and Pitta folks tend to have oily skin. Instead of running to a cosmetic store, head to your kitchen. Black tea is an excellent pore tightener, thanks to its astringent properties. Steep a cup of organic black tea for about 30 minutes and then strain the tea leaves out. Using clean cotton, apply the tea onto your face. Wash off after about 30 minutes and then moisturise your skin.

6. Black Tea Treats Acne Naturally.

Last on the uses of black tea list is acne treatment. Black tea has astringent, antioxidant as well as antibacterial properties – making it a reliable natural acne remedy. Make a cup of tea and when the tea bag is a bit cooler, simply apply it onto the acne-affected area. Wash your face after around 10 minutes and moisturise. In a matter of a week or two, you are likely to see the acne fade away.

Have you reap any of these health benefits of black tea yet?
