Botanically known as harpagophytum procumbens, devil’s claw is a herb native to Africa. Wondering where the name ‘devil’s claw’ comes from? This plant has fruits that resemble eerie-looking claws! But this plant is far from evil (when taken in the right dosage, of course!) since there are many devil’s claw uses in traditional medicine.

    Devil’s Claw Uses

    • It relieves muscle pain.
    • This herb also heals rheumatism.
    • It reduces inflammation.
    • It treats peptic ulcers.
    • Devil’s claw medicinal uses also include improving digestion.
    • It treats boils.
    • It helps heal degenerative disorders.
    • Wound healing is among the benefits of devils claw.
    • It also boosts appetite.

    Side Effects

    • Can aggravate heart and blood conditions
    • Might reduce blood glucose levels
    • May also aggravate gallstones
