Glycerin is an organic compound derived from Glycerol. It is a colorless and a gummy liquid that’s considered beneficial for all skin types and is loaded with innumerable benefits. Thus, it is a major constituent of anti-aging gels, moisturizers and all kinds of beauty soaps. Glycerin uses are rather diverse. But, very less is known of its medicinal properties. Moreover, did you know that it has no side effects?! Glycerin for the skin is a magical solution.

Glycerin Uses

1. Glycerin For The Skin Is A Great Moisturizer

The humectant found in glycerin helps trap water from the air. And, dry patches on your skin easily absorb and retain moisture this way. With age, your skin loses its moisture holding ability to cause redness, irritation, and roughness. Glycerin can help heal these microscopic cracks in your skin.

All you have to do is prepare a mixture of glycerin and sugar in equal parts. Add a few drops of aloe vera gel to this. Use this body scrub to massage your skin. It hydrates your skin and keeps the texture smooth.

2. Glycerin Is A Skin Protectant

Glycerin uses include hydrating the skin as well as filling the gaps in the dry skin. Eventually, this benefits in forming a protective layer that keeps pollutants and pathogens away.

3. Glycerin Cleanses Your Skin

Glycerin has all the properties of a cleanser. You can mix glycerin with rosewater to prepare your own skin cleanser. The mix is potent enough to wash away the unwanted dirt, dust, and pollutants. You can use this to apply it on your face every night.

4. Glycerin Can Treat Minor Burns

Skin burns are really dreadful. But, using natural remedies can help in the healing process. Chemically made ointments are bound to leave your skin feeling parched and dry. However, glycerin for the skin can treat minor burns without any side effects and even relieve the burning sensation. You just have to pour a few glycerin drops on the injury. Let it heal the skin for twenty minutes. Wash off and repeat the process several times.

5. Glycerin Can Soothe Razor Cuts

Your skin is prone to cuts or razor burns when it’s sensitive. This is why shaving nicks and razor burns may be a very common injury! It is very painful to go through it. But, applying glycerin can soothe the pain and promote healing. In fact, you can also use chemical free glycerin induced after-shave lotions for the same.
