What is Bell’s palsy? This disease is a state of partial or full facial paralysis. The causes of Bell’s palsy are unknown, but it is believed that viral infections could be a reason. The paralysis may occur instantly or it may take 24-48 hours to develop. Face dropping, crooked smile, and eye tearing are some of the symptoms of Bell’s palsy. Bell’s palsy occurs due to vitiation of vata in the body and therefore, Ayurveda can treat the disease naturally through home remedies.

What Are The Bell’s Palsy Symptoms?

  • Numbness on one side of your face
  • Drooling
  • Headache
  • Pain around the jaw and ear
  • Inability to taste or close an eye
  • Increased sensitivity to sound
  • Partial smile
  • Face drop
  • Inability to speak

What Are The Bell’s Palsy Causes?

The exact Bell’s palsy causes have not been recognized yet but it is agreed that the symptoms of Bell’s palsy occur due to viral infections like herpes, chicken pox, influenza, and respiratory illness. There are other factors that determine the possibility of developing the disease. Some of them are environmental toxins, emotional trauma, pregnancy, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Ayurvedic Bell’s Palsy Treatment

1. Ashwagandha Alleviates The Bell’s Palsy Symptoms.

Take some ashwagandha roots and make a powder. Consume 2 to 5g of this ashwagandha powder with honey or ghee. Ashwagandha works best with milk. It relaxes the nerves and the mind, which lowers anxiety and depression. It also strengthens the nervous system.

2. Cloves Improve The Condition.

Cloves, also known as launga, work well for Bell’s palsy treatment. They aid in strengthening the nerves in the body and the face. Add one part clove essential oil to ten parts coconut oil. Massage your face with the oil and let it stay until dry. Wash your face with normal water. Never use clove oil without a carrier oil as it irritates the skin if used in pure form.

3. Brahmi Is Beneficial.

Buy some ready-made brahmi powder. Add 125mg shankhpushpi powder, 65mg suvarna bhasma and 65mg mukta pishti. Take the mixture with one teaspoon honey every morning empty stomach. It will strengthen the weakened nerves.

4. Garlic Is An Effective Home Remedy.

Crush 3 cloves of garlic and add one teaspoon olive oil. Consume this mixture twice every day for speedy recovery. Garlic increases blood circulation and reduces inflammation of the nerves. It balances the vata in the body and eases any kind of pain caused by the disease.

5. Bell’s Palsy Treatment Also Includes Castor Oil.

Warm a bowl of water and add a tablespoon of castor oil in it. Dip a face towel in it. Squeeze out all the extra water and keep it on your face for 20-30 minutes. Repeat the compress procedure twice a day. Castor oil compression increases the blood circulation and improves lymphatic function.
