If you are persistently coughing as well as wheezing, these could be among the major bronchitis symptoms. Any such irritation caused in your throat may lead to bigger respiratory diseases like asthma. Therefore, the situation can be highly dangerous. But here are some bronchitis home remedies to get rid of the discomfort. Since bronchitis treatment is essential, these remedies will be soothing.

What Is Bronchitis?

The air you inhale reaches the lungs through the bronchial tubes. These air passages may get inflamed leading to respiratory problems like bronchitis. Essentially, there are two types of bronchitis – acute bronchitis and chronic bronchitis.

Acute bronchitis is a short-term problem that arises due to irritation or viral fever, whereas chronic bronchitis occurs due to excess mucus formation and stays for a longer term. However, treatment for the two is available and home remedies can obviously alleviate the symptoms.

What Are The Bronchitis Causes?

  • Viral infection
  • Smoking
  • Exposure to environmental pollutants
  • Old age
  • Poor immune system

What Are The Bronchitis Symptoms?

  • Ejection of mucous with a cough
  • Fever
  • Sneezing as well as wheezing
  • Discomfort in the chest
  • Difficulty in breathing

Bronchitis Treatment

1. Drink Giloy Juice Every Day.

Miraculous benefits of giloy (tinospora cordelia) help treat diseases like bronchitis, dengue, malaria, and typhoid. Since it’s anti-inflammatory in nature, drinking giloy juice every day can relieve the bronchitis symptoms.

2. Licorice Root Tea Is Beneficial.

Since licorice is rich in anti-inflammatory properties, its tea can be a beneficial bronchitis treatment. Therefore, two cups of licorice root tea every day can relieve your throat as well as chest related discomforts.

3. Relax Acute Bronchitis With A Ginger Concoction.

A concoction made with Ayurvedic herbs will clear the irritation in your throat. Simply put some sliced ginger pieces, ¼ teaspoon black pepper and ¼ teaspoon long pepper in a cup of boiling water. Let it steep for a few minutes. Strain the same, add some lemon juice along with honey and drink it daily.

4. Try Steam Inhalation To Relieve Bronchitis Symptoms.

Since bronchitis causes congestion, steam inhalation is said to be beneficial. It helps loosen the mucus inside the bronchial passage as well as lining. Therefore, boil some water in a vessel until the steam starts to appear. Inhale the steam by placing your head over the vessel, covered with a towel. You can also add a few drops of eucalyptus oil for better results.

5. Massage Your Body With Sesame Oil.

Warm sesame oil can be used to clear the congestion as well as mucus formation. Since it has anti-inflammatory properties, a daily body massage can calm the inflammation and also lubricate the bronchial lining.
