The teething process can be quite stressful for the baby as well as mother. Babies usually stay irritated due to the pain and other teething symptoms. Therefore, if you have a baby who might teeth soon, there must be questions associated with teething problems, like “When do babies start teething?”, “How long will the teething process take?”, and “What can you do to reduce the teething fever?” Here are the answers!

When Do Babies Start Teething?

Babies start teething after six to eight months of age. Teething usually ends after two years, when all the teeth have emerged.

What Are The Teething Symptoms?

  • Drooling
  • Swollen red gums
  • Pain
  • Teething fever
  • Diarrhea

Essential Baby Teething Tips

  • Stay calm so that even the baby stays relaxed.
  • Keep wiping the drool.
  • Clean the gums and the teeth with a gauze at night.
  • Wash your hands before giving massages to the child.
  • Distract the baby with stories, songs, and other activities.

Home Remedies For Teething

1. Massage Gums With Clove Oil.

Since clove oil is anti-inflammatory as well as antibacterial in nature, it can gently alleviate the teething symptoms. So, dilute the oil and daily massage your baby’s gums as well as teeth for quick relief from teething problems.

2. Make Them Chew Carrots For Relief.

No matter when babies start teething, make sure they have something harder to chew on. It helps to relax the agitation caused due to teething problems. Instead of any plastic teethers, give the baby a carrot to keep chewing.

3. Try Alcohol-Free Vanilla Extract.

Since vanilla extract has soothing properties, rub some of it on your baby’s gums. Just make sure it’s alcohol-free.

4. Ginger Relieves Teething Symptoms.

Ginger is anti-inflammatory as well as analgesic in nature. So, you can rub a small piece of ginger over the gums of your baby to reduce the burning sensation and other associated teething problems.

5. Almond Extract Relieves Teething Problems.

Dilute some almond extracts in water and apply it on the gums of the baby. This will soothe the pain as well as reduce the associated inflammation.

6. Licorice Root Relieves Teething Fever.

Rub a piece of licorice root on the gums of your baby. But, be very careful with this remedy as you may hurt the little one. However, licorice is extremely beneficial and is amongst the most wonderful baby teething tips.  It helps get rid of pain, infection as well as teething fever.

7. Need Baby Teething Tips? Try Pippali Ghee!

Both ghee as well as pippali help boost your immunity and provide nourishment. So, you can rub a mixture of ghee and pippali powder to soothe the baby’s gums.
