Our eyes are certainly quite sensitive as compared to most other organs in the body. This is why maintaining better hygiene must be your priority. Even the smallest irritation can lead to severe infections – an eye cyst or Chalazion cyst being one of them. So, chalazion treatment must be carried out the moment you observe such an eruption (you’d usually see a bump on the eye).

What Is A Chalazion Cyst (Eye Cyst)?

An eye cyst is a minor lump developing under or over the eyelid. It results from a blockage in the oil glands. The condition is medically termed as Chalazion Cyst. Although the chalazion eye is more common amongst adults, kids too must be careful.

What Are The Chalazion Causes?

  • Long-term inflammations
  • Maintaining poor hygiene
  • Wearing stained contact lenses
  • Touching or rubbing with unwashed hands
  • Clogged oil glands
  • Viral infections
  • Seborrhea, rosacea or acne

What Are The Chalazion Symptoms?

  • A sty
  • Beginning of an infection
  • Swollen bump on eyelid
  • Mild irritations
  • Redness
  • Tears in the eyes

Chalazion Treatment At Home – Effective Home Remedies

1. Massage The Affected Area.

Massaging with gentle pressure helps get rid of the cyst. It’s especially relevant when you use some essential oil to soothe the skin.

2. Warm Compression Eliminates The Chalazion Eye.

This will increase the blood circulation towards the affected area. As a result, the inflammation reduces. Soak a soft cloth in hot sterilized water. Then, wring the excess. Keep it on your eyes for few minutes every day.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar Effectively Treats An Eye Cyst.

Soak a cotton ball in diluted ACV (use hot water) and then, wipe the affected area with this. Since it possesses anti-inflammatory as well as antiseptic properties, it cures the condition.

4. Castor Oil Is Beneficial.

Having anti-inflammatory properties, castor oil drains the eye cyst and works as an effective chalazion treatment. Use warm compression and then apply castor oil over the affected area.

5. Green Tea Bags Are Anti-Inflammatory.

Applying a soaked green tea bag on the infected eye helps diminish the bump and also prevents spreading.

6. Aloe Vera Soothes The Skin.

Extract fresh aloe gel and apply it on the affected eyelid. This will help keep a check on the inflammation, redness as well as the swelling.

7. Ensure Personal Hygiene.

It’s a sure shot way to quick healing. A clean routine helps prevent the development of any severe infections. Therefore, make sure that you wash your eyelids and apply some baby oil at regular intervals. Clean your hands in case you need to touch your eyes. Never scratch or squeeze the cyst. Let it drain on its own. Chalazion treatment is best when you follow hygienic habits.
