The Shankhpushpi plant is a grass-like plant that blooms beautiful little flowers. Essentially it is sticky, tastes bitter, has a cooling potency and is pungent in nature. It is an important Ayurvedic herb that’s used in the plant, flower, leaves, seeds, root as well as ash form. It is a herbal wonder that caters to a lot of health problems. The shankhpushpi benefits are immense. It is also called the herb of longevity. It strengthens you overall, promotes quality living and enhances your intellectual abilities.

1. It Boosts Cognitive Abilities.

The Shankhpushpi benefits arise from the fact that it is a brain tonic. It helps boost your memory, enhances learning abilities, cures the symptoms of neurodegenerative disorders, tranquilizes the brain, and helps remove neurotoxins. When given to kids mixed in warm milk with some honey, it promotes intellectual abilities.

2. Shankhpushpi Aids Digestion.

Being a potent laxative, shankhpushpi benefits your digestive health. It helps relieve gas, cures constipation, supports digestion, induces hunger, treats gastric ulcers, relives excessive acid, and promotes better gut health. Take 2 tbsps of the shankhpushpi plant juice with a pinch of black pepper powder and some honey for better gut health.

3. Shankhpushpi Benefits You Emotionally.

Since stress is a part of our everyday routine, something needs to counter-attack it. So be it physical or emotional and mental stress, shankhpushpi benefits to reduce those tensions. It helps deal with the signs of anxiety, depression, irritability, as well as restlessness. Therefore, take around 2-4 grams of shankhpushpi extracts with a gram of bach herb powder and ease your mind.

Add a spoonful in a glass of water and let it sit overnight. The next morning, strain and drink the same. This will keep your body cool and alleviate any burning sensations.

The composition of the shankhpushpi plant is such that it protects your heart health. Therefore, grind these ingredients into a fine paste and have 2 tbsps twice daily – shankhpushpi flower extract, Arjuna bark, amla as well as punarnava powder. Use 10 grams of each.

7. It’s Potent Hyperthyroidism Treatment.

Regular intake of the shankhpushpi plant extract helps cure the hyperthyroidism symptoms. The herb also helps regulate your body’s metabolism to correct the disorder.
