Elephantiasis a.k.a. lymphatic filariasis is basically a swelling in your limbs that happens due to parasitic worms. These worms can spread as well as infect other people through mosquitoes and have a critical impact. So, it’s important to understand exactly what is elephantiasis, the common elephantiasis symptoms as well as the elephantiasis treatment (during the early stages).

What Is Elephantiasis Disease?

A majority of people have no idea about what is elephantiasis. Medically, the condition is known as a parasitic infection that leads to swelling in your arms as well as the legs. Elephantiasis is caused by a nematode parasitic worm that can infect humans via female mosquitoes. Most numbers of cases are therefore found in Africa as well as Southeast Asia.

  • Parasitic worms namely Wucheria bancrofti, Brugia malayi and Brugia timori

  • Swelling in legs to restrict your mobility
  • Blocked lymphatic system
  • Swollen genitals as well as arms

  • High fever and chills

Elephantiasis Treatment

1. Clove Treats The Elephantiasis Symptoms. 

Cloves are effective in relieving the elephantiasis symptoms. These also help eliminate the parasitic worms from your body to cure the condition.

2. Ginger Is Beneficial For Elephantiasis Treatment.

Take some ginger powder along with warm water every day. The medicinal properties of ginger will destroy the pathogens to reactivate your lymphatic system.

3. Amla Helps Heal The Wounds. 

Amla is said to be super rich in vitamin C as well as anthelmintics. These are beneficial in the healing your wounds as well as the associated infections. Thus, amla (Indian Gooseberry) must be regularly consumed in order to relieve the elephantiasis symptoms.

4. Sankhpushpi Is A Guaranteed Elephantiasis Treatment. 

Grind and form a fine paste of the Sankhpushpi roots. Apply this to the affected areas and relieve the elephantiasis symptoms as well as the swelling.

5. Brahmi Reduces Swelling. 

Ancient healers have been using brahmi in various treatments. You can too! So, prepare a paste by grinding the herb and apply it over the affected area. This will reduce the swelling as well as cure the condition.

6. Rock-Salt Helps Ease Out The Discomforts. 

Mix rock salt with sankhapushpi as well as some sonth powder. Take a pinch of this mixture along with warm water to get a significant relief from the elephantiasis symptoms.
