The witch hazel benefits are immense. Treat your acne, repair hair damage or get rid of the everyday stress – the witch hazel uses are extensive. It has powerful antioxidant properties and is loaded with immense medicinal value to cure many ailments.

What Is Witch Hazel?

The plant was discovered in North America but it is also found in Japan and China. Another name for the plant is winter bloom, and it belongs to the Hamamelidaceae family. The witch hazel uses are pretty surprising – it has astringent, sedative, antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic as well as anti-inflammatory properties.

1. Witch Hazel Benefits The Skin.

Skin diseases, bruises, wounds and even acne can be treated with the help of witch hazel. Since witch hazel has anti-inflammatory as well as astringent properties, it heals skin damage. It also slows down the bleeding around a wound to prevent excess blood loss. Moreover, the tannins present in witch hazel potentially clear out acne.

2. Witch Hazel Cures Varicose Veins.

Varicose veins or enlarged veins make their presence on your legs as well as feet. These are painful and can be treated at home with the help of witch hazel. Gallic acid and the essential oil present in witch hazel can definitely reduce the pain, swelling, and other associated discomforts.

3. Witch Hazel Reduces Hair Fall.

The witch hazel shrub is a vasoconstrictor, which means that it narrows the veins and enhances blood circulation. Therefore, massage your scalp with witch hazel oil or reduce the hair fall with an effective witch hazel wash. This effectively strengthens your hair health.

4. Witch Hazel Relieves Stress.

The antioxidants found in witch hazel help encourage a healthy mind. Therefore, use witch hazel oil to for its calming effects. 

 

2 Witch Hazel Recipes

1. Witch Hazel Is Used As A Tonic.

Add about 400 grams of witch hazel bark in 3l water. Boil the solution in a pan and allow it to cook on low heat for an hour. Strain the same and your health tonic is ready. 

2. Witch Hazel Can Be Used As A Herbal Tea.

Take some witch hazel leaves or bark and rinse in water. In a pan, pour one and a half cup of water, let it boil and add the leaves or bark. Heat for about 3-5 minutes and steep for 15 minutes. Cool and drink the tea twice daily to observe the benefits.
