Rosary Pea (Gunja): Uses, Dosage And Side Effects

    Native to India, rosary pea is also known as gunja in Hindi and crab’s eye. While it contains toxins, it also has powerful medicinal properties and that’s why it’s an important herb in Ayurveda.

    Uses Of Rosary Pea

    • It pacifies the Vata and Kapha doshas.
    • It gets rid of chest congestion.
    • This herb treats paralysis.
    • It has a sedative effect on the nerves.
    • It can treat anxiety.
    • Detoxification is among the rosary pea benefits.
    • It also improves sexual drive and stamina.
    • It treats skin disorders like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.
    • Rosary pea uses also include treating arthritis.
    • It can treat sciatica.
    • It promotes wound healing.
    • This herb also fights off infection.
    • It can treat voice hoarseness too.

    Dosage

    The general safe dosage for adults is not more than 125 mg of the detoxified powder.

    Side Effects

    Dizziness, indigestion and restlessness. In the wrong dosage, it can cause poisoning, heart failure, shock, difficulty breathing and other such dangerous side effects.
