Nervousness is a mental condition wherein an individual feels easily agitated, anxious or apprehensive – quite often for petty reasons, or sometimes none at all. A person who is nervous sweats a lot, their heart beats faster and the muscles start to contract. One may even get breathless. It might affect a person’s daily life when they get nervous too often. But, how to reduce nervousness before it takes a toll on your regular life? Are foods for nervous disorders helpful?

What Are The Causes Of Nervousness?

Stress is the major cause of nervousness. Being unsure of the events that may take place in the future can be the reason of stress for some people. Uncertainty regarding work, personal relationships or any other event may lead to a fear of negative outcomes.

Some people also get nervous thinking about past incidents. What helps with nervousness is staying calm and disregarding the situations one cannot control. Over-thinking leads to an anxious mind and therefore, it is suggestive to focus on the present rather than past or future.

How To Reduce Nervousness Using Food?

1. Omega-3 Reduces The Symptoms.

Omega-3 fatty acids are present in foods like flaxseed, soybean, and walnut. These help in improving your mood and even develop the capability to cope with stress. Chia seeds, olive oil, and avocados are also rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which are also a great choice for vegans.

2. Warm Milk Is Beneficial.

How to reduce nervousness with milk? It provides soothing properties. Milk has a lot of vitamins and minerals like Vitamin B and D, antioxidants, proteins, and calcium. Drinking warm milk helps in reducing stress and getting a better sleep. It reduces your blood pressure and relaxes tensed muscles.

3. Chamomile Tea Calms Your Senses.

Chamomile tea also lowers blood pressure and helps deals with anxiety. If you are lactose intolerant then chamomile tea will be best for you. Chamomile is quite often used in anti-anxiety medicines. The fragrance of this tea can make anyone relax and drift off to another world. An alternative to chamomile tea is the rooibos tea. Both work to eliminate tensions and nervousness.

4. Asparagus Helps Lower The Anxiety.

Asparagus is the best food for nervousness. It is rich in vitamins and folic acid. Lack of folic acid can cause depression and anxiety. Hence, everyone should include asparagus in their diet to stay away from nervous disorders.

5. Whole Grain Oats Balance Your System.

Oats are rich in complex carbohydrates which increase the level of serotonin in the brain responsible for balancing your positivity. Quinoa, brown rice and whole grain bread are some other foods rich in fiber, vitamins and complex carbohydrates. These also support your digestive system.
