Hair fall is something normal – hair care experts say that on average, we lose up to 100 strands of hair a day. But if you find that you’re losing much more than that on a regular basis, you should do something about it. Hair fall can be a difficult thing to deal with, but in most cases, it can be reversed with natural remedies such as oils, diet changes and yoga poses. Yoga poses help by tackling the various factors that cause the issue in the first place. In this article, we’ll tell you all about how you can use yoga for hair growth and regain the thickness as well as healthy texture of your hair.

Causes Of Hair Fall

  • Chronic stress
  • Thyroid imbalance
  • Poor diet
  • Excess use of chemicals on the hair
  • Genes
  • Ageing
  • Iron deficiency
  • Hormonal conditions like PCOS
  • Scalp conditions like severe dryness

Yoga For Hair Growth: 7 Excellent Poses

1. Adho Mukho Svanasana (Downward Dog) For Stress

Too much stress is one of the leading causes of hair loss as well as premature ageing in people across the world. The good news is that yoga offers a plethora of stress-busting techniques. The Downward Dog pose helps a lot since it not only calms the mind and soul, but also boosts blood circulation in the scalp.

2. Ustrasana (Camel Pose) For Thyroid Balance

The Camel Pose is a very helpful yoga for hair loss pose. It offers 2 significant benefits: one is increased blood flow to the scalp which means more nutrition for your hair. The other is that it tackles thyroid imbalance, a common cause of hair loss.

3. Sirsasana (Headstand) For Blood Circulation

Next up is the Headstand, one of the best yoga for hair fall control poses. You must learn this pose very carefully to avoid injury. When done correctly, it has a host of health benefits, including hair fall control. It busts stress, boosts blood circulation, and helps combat premature ageing.

4. Uttanasana (Standing Forward Bend) For Thickness

The Standing Forward Bend also works by improving blood circulation to the scalp. This not only increases the thickness of the hair, but also improves the texture and helps it get a healthy shine. It’s a great pose for anxiety and mental fatigue.

5. Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand) For Hair Regrowth

The Shoulder Stand is popular for being a yoga pose that benefits all organs of the body. When practised as a yoga for hair growth pose, it benefits you by improving the function of the thyroid glands, bringing about better hormonal balance, getting rid of accumulated stress, and sending nourishment to the hair.

6. Anuloma Viloma (Alternate Nostril Breathing) For Calmness

The last yoga for hair growth tip is a Pranayama technique. Alternate Nostril Breathing is one of the most powerful stress busting exercises. When you practise it daily, you can reach a point where you are able to release stress in just a matter of minutes by doing this Pranayama. By treating chronic stress, it also fights hair loss as a result.
