If you’ve been feeling constantly overwhelmed, irritable, burned out or depressive, it’s time to give yourself some love and care.

Yoga For Stress Relief: Learn How To Deal With Stress Anywhere, Anytime

1. Ocean Breath To Bust Stress Within Minutes

Ujjayi Breath is a Pranayama (breathing) technique. It’s also known as the “Ocean Breath” since it creates the sound of soothing ocean waves. This unique technique calms and energises at the same time. It increases oxygen throughout the body, releases built up tension, and regulates blood pressure. All of this leaves you feeling better instantly.

2. Corpse Pose For Deep Relaxation

No yoga for stress management routine is complete without Corpse Pose, known as Savasana in Sanskrit. It helps you completely disconnect from the hustle of life as you lay on your mat, in deep rest. Consciously relaxing every inch of your body, you reach a space where you experience nothing but tranquility. You’ll return to your day feeling refreshed and renewed.

3. Cobra Pose For A Positivity Boost

Another great exercise to reduce stress, Cobra Pose or Bhujangasana offers tons of benefits. It gives your back, shoulders and chest a gooooood stretch, releasing all tension from these regions. Cobra Pose boosts optimism, energy, and calmness – all the same time.

4. Child’s Pose To Sink Into Serenity

Ever feel like you’re unable to let go of all those negative emotions, no matter how much you try? Child’s Pose a.k.a Balasana helps you simply drop everything. Gently stretching your back and improving blood flow to the brain, it releases all that pent-up stress. I was once so deeply rested in this pose that I drifted off to sleep!

5. Alternate Nostril Breathing To Find Your Balance

How to manage stress anywhere and anytime? Just take a few minutes off and practise Nadi Shodhana. Known by most as Alternate Nostril Breathing, this Pranayama technique is oh-so soothing for the nerves. It is said to balances our polar energies, bringing a state of peace and stability. An excellent technique in yoga for stress and anxiety.
