Astragalus, also known as milk vetch is a leguminous plant that’s native to China. It grows in a well-drained soil along with a lot of sunlight. Ayurveda advances the astragalus root benefits for the treatment of several health conditions like asthma, stress, liver issues and more. It is an all-time herbal tonic that helps restore your well being as well as enhance the overall living quality. Astragalus root benefits are extraordinary and promote absolute healing. Active compounds including saponins, flavonoids as well as polysaccharides contain anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anti-oxidative and antiviral properties.

Astragalus Uses

  • Tea

Take a teaspoon of dried astragalus roots and boil them in a cup of water. Steep the tea for about 5 minutes and strain. Drink warm.

  • Face pack

Grind the dry astragalus roots into a powder. Add some water to make a thick paste. Apply it on the face and leave for 15-20 minutes. Wash with normal water.

  • Herbal Medicine

Take one teaspoon of astragalus root powder with water as a medicine.

Astragalus Benefits

1. Astragalus Treats Inflammatory Diseases.

Arthritis, diabetes and associated disorders are a result of inflammation in the body. Since astragalus root benefits as an anti-inflammatory herb, it helps soothe the body providing calming sensations.

2. It Prevents The Development Of Tumors.

Since astragalus is a potent antioxidant, it helps destroy free radicals, reverse drug resistance and therefore get rid of any tumors in the body. It can also prevent the symptoms of chemotherapy including nausea, diarrhea as well as vomiting.

3. Astragalus Benefits Heart Health.

Your heart is prone to malfunctioning when plaque builds up in the arteries. However, astragalus root benefits the heart by removing the buildup as well as protect the blood vessels. Saponins perform the mentioned functions by lowering cholesterol levels.

4. It’s Beneficial For Diabetic Patients.

Since astragalus contains saponins, flavonoids, as well as polysaccharides, it increases insulin sensitivity. Insulin resistance decreases and helps treat even type-2 diabetes. The herb can also be used to treat liver damage caused by diabetes.

5. Astragalus Benefits Are Anti-Aging.

Astragalus benefits the skin by removing oxidative stress from the body leaving you with a younger looking skin. The anti-inflammatory properties help release stress and eradicate the signs of aging.

6. Astragalus Root Benefits In The Prevention Of Scars.

With the astragalus uses, you can easily get rid of any scars or marks on the body. Since the astragalus root benefits contain antioxidants, these help repair the damaged cells. The healing process gets much faster and it also regenerates the damaged or injured skin cells as well as tissues.

7. It Counterattacks Cold & Flu.

Astragalus root benefits are immune boosting. Since the herb is antiviral as well as antimicrobial in nature, it kills the bacteria and virus causing cold and flu. The herb is also great for people who have breathing problems like asthma.
