    Cashew nut milk is taking over the dairy aisle and is getting head-to-head in terms of efforts, money, taste and of course cashew nutrition when compared with any other nut milk. So, if you want to opt for something healthy and satiating or simply explore more non-dairy choices, try this homemade cashew milk recipe. There are immense cashew milk benefits. It has a pretty thick consistency and is more subtle in taste.

    Cashew Nutrition

    As compared to 30 calories per cup present in almond milk, the cashew milk recipe contains only about 25 calories per cup. It is loaded with vitamins A, D and E, along with calcium and more such essential nutrients.

    Homemade cashew milk, as opposed to the processed and store-bought variants, is unsweetened as well as nutrient-rich. Homemade cashew milk benefits include being dairy, lactose as well as gluten free.

    Ayurvedic Benefits Of Homemade Cashew Milk

    Cashews are sweet as well as satiating in nature. These are warm, crunchy and each bite tastes heavenly. Nuts are considered heavy and Kapha aggravating in Ayurveda. They have a pacifying effect on Vata as well as Pitta. Therefore, cashew nutrition makes for a strengthening and a satisfying nut milk. What else?

    Cashew Milk Recipe

    Here’s a simple homemade cashew milk recipe. Use it for your cereals, smoothies, tea or simply to gulp it down every day.

    What You’ll Need:

    • 50 grams of cashew nuts
    • 2-3 cups of water
    • A pinch of sea salt
    • 1/2 a tsp vanilla extract
    • Honey or dates (optional)

    What To Do:

    • Take the cashews, add a pinch of sea salt, and soak them in water overnight.
    • Strain next morning and wash the nuts thoroughly.
    • Blend all the ingredients into a smooth paste along with some water to get a milk-like consistency.
    • Sieve or have it right away.
    • Seal and store in a mason jar. Refrigerate and you are good to go for about 3-4 days.

    This homemade cashew milk recipe is great to prepare fruit shakes with papaya, banana or apples in it. Dates and honey add some extra flavor.
