Primarily, Vaccinium Myrtillus is a low growing shrub that yields small-sized edible berries. It exhibits magnificent medicinal properties to benefit your health. Bilberry extract is one of the most common forms. However, you can also gain the bilberry benefits through powder supplements, tea leaves, jam as well as pills. Bilberry benefits the entire body. However, excess consumption can be dangerous.

What Is Bilberry?

Bilberry a.k.a Vaccinium Myrtillus is a shrub that grows in Europe and belongs to the Ericaceae family. The berries are sweet as well as acidic in taste. They grow in colder climates and are often mistaken for blueberries, because of the color that comes from polyphenolic components called anthocyanins. These are super antioxidants having a healthy effect on your vision, stomach, cholesterol, blood sugar levels as well as age-related diseases. So, let’s look at the bilberry benefits one by one.

4. It Improves Heart Functioning.

The antioxidants found in bilberry extract are anti-inflammatory in nature. It helps cure diseases like varicose veins as well as the symptoms of heart disorders like burning in the chest.
