The inner ear (responsible for balance as well as hearing) disorder or the Meniere’s disease leads to episodes similar to vertigo. It even causes fluctuations in hearing and other such severe Meniere’s disease symptoms. The condition mostly affects just one ear but may cause permanent hearing loss in case the treatment is not effective. What Is Meniere’s Disease?
It’s a chronic inner ear disorder which is likely to be observed amongst people in their 40s or 50s. Meniere’s disease symptoms appear in episodes or as attacks with at least two to three of the following symptoms together:
- Loss of hearing in one ear
- Ringing sensation
- Feeling that ear is full or plugged
- Loss of balance
- Nausea and vomiting
- Sweating due to anxiety
Meniere’s Disease Treatment
This disease is a chronic ailment but with an effective Ayurvedic treatment and a healthy diet, you can reduce the long-term effects of the condition. Thus, it’s important to avoid caffeine, nicotine, sugar substitutes and MSG as they can worsen the Meniere’s disease symptoms.
1. Detox Water Is Beneficial.
Fill a pitcher with some water. Add one small sliced orange, 4 sprigs of lavender, ¾ cup of blueberries and 3-5 basil leaves in the container. Leave the ingredients in water for about 2-3 hours and drink this detox water throughout the day. It’ll help remove all the harmful toxins from the body along with lowering the sodium content.
2. Cayenne Pepper Is A Great Meniere’s Disease Treatment.
To a glass of warm water, add ½ a teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder, a full lemon’s juice, and a teaspoon of raw honey. Drink this on an empty stomach every day and it’ll help detoxify your body. Not just that, it will also help reduce the intensity of your headache and provide relief from nausea.
3. Parsley Tea Cures The Meniere’s Disease Symptoms.
Parsley is known to have a diuretic effect that removes the excess sodium as well as high water content from the body. So, take some parsley sprigs and add them into a cup of boiling water. Let the water steep for about 3-5 minutes and then drink warm.
4. Oil Massage Is An Effective Meniere’s Disease Treatment.
Take any essential oil like rose, clary sage or rosemary and add a few drops to any carrier oil like almond or olive oil. Massage your head, your neck as well as the areas around. This will give you immense relief from vertigo which is one of the most common and unpleasant Meniere’s disease symptoms.
