There are certain herbs in Ayurveda enriched with benefits that are plenty – and often, more than what you even think of. Comfrey is one such medicinal plant. The comfrey uses as well as benefits are immense, medicinal, and diverse. It is a wonderful remedy to treat a majority of health concerns.

But, What Is Comfrey?

It’s a herbal plant grown in the United States along with some parts of Europe. Having medicinal properties, comfrey is an anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antiseptic as well as laxative herb. It’s rich in Vitamin A, B complex, Vitamin C, protein, calcium, phosphorus, iron, potassium, geranium, selenium, zinc, copper, and magnesium. Now, that’s quite a range of nutrients!

Comfrey Uses

The most popular as well as effective comfrey uses include the following:

1. Tea

Boil 4-5 comfrey leaves in one and a half cup of water. Steep the tea for about 5-10 minutes. Strain the tea and drink twice every day.

2. Skin Toner

Prepare the tea as mentioned above and store it in a bottle. Keep this bottle in the refrigerator and use as a toner whenever required. Pour some liquid over a cotton ball and apply it on your skin daily.

3. For Wounds

Take some fresh comfrey leaves and grind them with some water. Prepare a thick paste and apply on the bruises or burn. Keep it for 15-20 minutes, and then wash off with normal water.

Comfrey Benefits

1. Comfrey Is the Best Skincare Ingredient.

Do blemishes, acne, and marks bother you? Do you feel your skin is dull and dry? Comfrey benefits the skin by providing moisture and cleaning the skin pores – thanks to its astringent properties. Use it in the form of a skin toner (mentioned under the comfrey uses) and you’ll see a visible difference.

2. Do You Long For Shiny Hair? Try Comfrey.

What is comfrey? It’s an ultimate hair tonic that reverses hair loss and even fights dandruff. The moisturizing properties of comfrey make your hair smooth and shiny. Also, instead of using chemical hair dyes, use comfrey tea for coloring the hair naturally.

3. Comfrey Heals Your Wounds.

What is comfrey? It’s an anti-inflammatory herb possessing allantoin that helps promote cell reproduction. So, apply a smooth comfrey leaves paste to cure skin ulcers, wounds, burns or bruises.

4. Relieve Muscular Pain with Comfrey.

The herb is analgesic and promotes better blood circulation. So when the blood flow increases, tensed muscles relax, reducing the pain.

5. Forget Seasonal Cold And Cough Forever.

The comfrey herb purifies blood and treats congestion in the lungs. It also helps treat bronchitis and other respiratory diseases.

6. Increase Digestive Juices In Your System.

Comfrey leaves increase your digestive power and soothes problems like acidity, heartburn as well as constipation.
