Yoga, world’s spiritual as well as ascetic discipline, is an absolute relaxation and relieving practice. It stretches as well as contracts, all the bodily muscles to reduce the symptoms of several ailments that we face every day. Piles is one such issue that many people hesitate talking about. But, it’s severely painful and not everyone is skilled enough to treat a patient of piles. It also passes on from one generation to another. However, yoga for piles is the ultimate solution!

What Is Piles?

Piles in Ayurveda is said to be one’s enemy and it manifests in two different forms – Bleeding Piles and Dry Piles. Severely experiencing constipation is one reason that gives rise to piles. It actually makes an individual’s stool hard and dry. And this happens when blood vessels in the anal cavity swell to obstruct the defecation process which eventually causes the suffering. But, yoga poses for piles are effective and can help relieve the patient.

Causes

Piles or Hemorrhoids is basically caused due to an irregular lifestyle. People who do not accommodate a good diet plan are also the ones who can face this issue. Another cause of piles is carrying out prolonged standing activities like that of policemen or contractors and lifting heavy weights like porters or weightlifters.

People who have constipation, experience difficulties in the urinary tract, have an inadequate fluid intake, consume a low fiber diet and/ or pregnancy are also the affected ones. Few other causes can be overindulgence in intercourse, obesity, a sedentary lifestyle, suppressing urges and consuming a lot of non-vegetarian food along with alcohol.

6 Effective Yoga Poses for Piles

1. Garland Pose or Malasana

This yoga asana for piles helps eradicate the root cause i.e. constipation. It not only positively works for your buttocks, but also for your spine and abdominal muscles. The entire digestive tract benefits from this pose and you must stay in this particular pose for about 8-10 breathes before you calm down.

2. Headstand or Sirsasana

Such yoga poses for piles not only heal piles but also cure a migraine, relieve diabetes, cure thyroid and also improve the blood circulation in your body. Your head is the part that needs to bear the entire weight, however, here is when your arms come into play. Be extremely careful when in this pose. People who suffer from high blood pressure or any heart issues are not suggested to perform the asana.

3. Child’s Pose or Balasana

This pose circulates more blood towards the anus to provide relief from constipation. You must retain the pose for at least a minute or till the duration you are comfortable with.

4. Wind Relieving Pose or Pawanmuktasana

For people who are facing piles due to gas and constipation can absolutely benefit from the best yoga asana for piles – Pawanmuktasana. It starts regulating the bowel movements and releases the harmful toxins that restrict one’s betterment. Practice the position for only about 5 – 6 seconds. The effect is slow, hence, the gas eventually settles and you feel the pressure on your anus muscles going low.

5. Shoulder Stand or Sarvangasana

This yoga posture for piles treatment is considered to be the mother of all poses. You can reap several benefits from a single yoga pose. Your body goes into an inverted position and blood circulation too happens in the reverse order. Plus, this particular yoga pose for piles is a complete refreshment!

6. Fish Pose or Matsyasana

This is one of the most powerful yoga poses for piles. It’s great for your stomach as it benefits the intestines to cure constipation. The asana enhances your blood circulation and removes the harmful toxins. It also helps you get rid of the pain caused by hemorrhoids. But make sure to practice this yoga posture for piles treatment only thrice or 4 times and hold it for not more than 30 seconds each time.
