We’ve been hearing how bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, damages one’s life and leads to abnormal behavioral tendencies. During mania, a person gets ecstatic and highly energetic, whereas under depression, they’ll have no motivation or encouragement to work or live. Insanity, as well as depression, are two major manic depression symptoms. If not treated on time, bipolar disorder can become life-threatening.

What Is Bipolar Disorder?

Bipolar disorder is mental confusion characterized by obsession as well as depression (major bipolar disorder symptoms). A person with manic depression will go through the episodes of highly elevated moods along with miserable sadness. These may often occur alternatively and begin to disturb one’s everyday life.

What Causes Bipolar Disorder?

According to Ayurveda, bipolar disorder is caused due to a disturbance in the ojas which is a balance between the mind, body, and soul. It lowers the sattva guna (tranquility of mind) and doubles vata. A surge in vata induces fear, anxiety as well as insomnia. Eventually, it all affects one’s sensory as well as nervous system.

What Are The Bipolar Disorder Symptoms?

  • Frequent mood swings
  • Speech disruptions
  • Loss of logical judgment
  • Changes in thoughts as well as ideas
  • Sudden and severe energy fluctuations

Bipolar Disorder Treatment

1. Use Shatavari To Relieve The Bipolar Disorder Symptoms.

Shatavari root is beneficial for various complicated treatments. So, give around 6 grams of shatavari powder to the patient with warm milk twice every day after meals. It will help pacify the excess vata and also reduce the manic depression symptoms.

2. Try Jatamansi.

Massage the patient’s body with a mix of 5 ml jatamansi oil and 2.5 ml of sesame oil to reduce the negative thoughts. One may also add a few drops of jatamansi oil to the bathing water and use it to relax the body as well as the mind.

3. Shankhpushpi Is An Effective Manic Depression Cure.

Shankhpushpi helps boost the memory as well as the concentration levels. It balances the neurotransmitters in the brain. So, on an empty stomach everyday, take 5 grams shankhpushpi powder with a teaspoon honey in a glass of lukewarm water and relieve the discomforts.

4. Treat Bipolar Disorder Symptoms With Bhringraj.

Give the patient 3 grams of bhringraj powder every day either with a teaspoon of honey or a glass of warm water. It will help them sleep better and get rid of insomnia, one of the bipolar disorder symptoms.

5. Oat Straw is Beneficial.

Add some oat straw to a cup of boiling water for 10-15 minutes and then let it cool. Give this to the patient every day to help fight insomnia, reduce anxiety and thus, prevent the signs of depression.

6. Chamomile Tea Calms The Anxiety.

Since chamomile helps relax the mind and reduce all the stress, prepare a soothing tea. Use dry flowers so as to indulge in the aroma.
