The swollen and blue-purple veins on your hands or legs are called varicose veins. They lead to severe pain and discomforts. But if you wonder what causes varicose veins to bulge, the answer is improper circulation of blood. It leads to varicose veins pain along with burning. Natural home remedies can help in reducing the pain, swelling, and inflammation.

What Causes Varicose Veins?

The veins in the body have small valves. When they weaken, it leads to decreased blood flow in the body. The blood eventually starts accumulating in the veins, making them swell. And, this causes twisted as well as purple veins.

What Are The Varicose Veins Symptoms?

  • Burning and throbbing sensation
  • Legs feeling heavy
  • Pain in the veins
  • Swelling on the feet and ankles
  • Dry and itchy skin

Varicose Veins Treatment

1. Drink Cayenne Pepper Tea.

Cayenne pepper is rich in bioflavonoids which treat varicose veins pain. Therefore, steep a teaspoon of cayenne pepper in a cup of hot water for 5 minutes. Strain and drink. Do this thrice every day to cure varicose veins symptoms.

2. Massage With Olive Oil.

What causes varicose veins? Poor circulation. So, why not try olive oil which increases and improves the flow? Mix a teaspoon of warm olive oil with one teaspoon of vitamin E oil. Massage the affected areas for 5 minutes. Repeat twice every day.

3. Apply Apple Cider Vinegar.

Since apple cider vinegar improves blood flow, you can take a teaspoon of undiluted ACV and massage the veins with it before sleeping. Do this once or twice every day and it will help reduce the varicose veins symptoms.

4. Use Butcher’s Broom For Varicose Veins Pain.

Butcher’s Broom relieves inflammation. So, grind the herb’s leaves in a jar and add a little water to make a paste. Apply the paste onto the affected areas and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash with clean water. Do this daily.

5. Soak Your Feet In Witch Hazel Solution.

Witch hazel reduces swelling as well as pain. So, in a tub of lukewarm water, add a few witch hazel strands and soak your feet in it. After 15 minutes, wash your legs with clean water and pat them dry. Repeat for a month or till the symptoms subside.

6. Parsley Tea Is Beneficial.

Parsley is rich in antioxidants that aid tissue repair. So, prepare a tea by boiling chopped parsley in a cup of water. Cool the tea and apply the tea to the affected area.

7. Gingko Biloba Is A Bioflavonoid.

Gingko biloba contains rutin, a bioflavonoid that exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory as well as antidiabetic properties. Therefore, take a teaspoon of biloba powder and boil it in a cup of water for 5 minutes. Strain and drink warm daily.
