Is Heat Exhaustion Bothering You? Here Are Some Home Remedies!

What is heat exhaustion? It’s essentially a heat sickness where your body temperature gets excessively high. The body’s cooling mechanism that maintains the temperature starts to fail. It causes uncontrollable sweating, headache as well as the feelings of dizziness. These heat exhaustion symptoms are easy to recognize. And the condition is said to be dangerous for kids as it may lead to chronic dehydration or stroke. The body temperature shoots quite hight – above 98.6 F (37°C). If not treated on time, it can lead to organ failure or even death.

What Are Heat Exhaustion Causes?

  • Vigorous physical activities in hot weather
  • Dehydration
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Unbreathable clothes

What Are Heat Exhaustion Symptoms?

  • Clammy skin
  • Fainting
  • Headache
  • Vomiting and nausea
  • Dehydration
  • Thirst
  • Dizziness and fatigue
  • Weak and rapid pulse
  • Muscle cramps
  • Low blood pressure

Heat Exhaustion Treatment

1. Lower Body Temperature With Onions.

Onions help you remain cool during hot summers. So, you can use them in salads or prepare some healthy snacks to fight the heat exhaustion symptoms. You can also apply some onion juice onto your chest if the temperature doesn’t drop on its own.

2. Sandalwood Relieves Heat Exhaustion Symptoms.

Since sandalwood has cooling properties, it’s widely used around the world. Therefore, take 3 – 4 teaspoon sandalwood powder and mix it in water. Make a fine paste and apply it on your forehead as well chest to reduce the heat.

3. Lemon & Mint Water Hydrates The Body.

Heat exhaustion in kids can effectively be treated with lemon and mint. Both are a great source of freshness. So, take one glass of water and add a teaspoon of lemon juice, some mint leaves, and honey to prepare a nourishing drink.

4. Try Coriander Water For Heat Sickness.

Coriander is cooling in nature and therefore it eases the heat sickness. So, blend some fresh coriander leaves with water to get its juice. Add honey for taste and drink this to alleviate the discomforts. 

5. Apple Cider Vinegar Treats Heat Exhaustion.

Apple cider vinegar is rich in essential minerals as well as vitamins. It helps the body to retrieve the lost electrolytes. So, take a glass of cool water and add one teaspoon ACV. Drink this solution to overcome the heat sickness along with fatigue and weakness.
