Bikram yoga is a style of yoga developed by Bikram Chaudhary, a yogi from India. People who learn from Bikram himself are certified instructors, and only they are allowed to run Bikram yoga classes. For further clarity, Bikram yoga is a little different from hot yoga and so are their benefits. All of the Bikram yoga poses aren’t like hot yoga, but the same cannot be said for hot yoga.

What Is Bikram Yoga?

It’s a set of 26 yoga poses that help prevent mental as well as physical ailments. These postures are practiced twice in a hot room as a 90-minute routine. It is to be performed in a heated room heated to around 95 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Such sessions have various health benefits. The program helps improve your body posture, concentration power, and also helps maintain the right balance. The Half Moon pose, Eagle pose, and Bow pose are some of popular Bikram yoga poses to provide absolute strength to your body.

Bikram Yoga Benefits

1. It Lowers The Risk Of Heart Diseases.

The motive of practicing Bikram yoga is to benefit from the heat which opens up your blood vessels lowering the risk of high blood pressure, cholesterol buildup along with poor blood circulation.

2. It Releases Muscle Tension.

The yoga poses in the Bikram style are known to increase flexibility and body strength. Sore as well as tensed muscles are also a result of poor circulation. Therefore, the poses help regulate the blood flow in your body.

3. It Supports Breathing & Respiratory Functions.

Bikram yoga benefits by flushing out the harmful toxins from the body. It leads to sweating and this, in turn, eliminates the body waste. Your skin radiates and the body remains disease-free.

4. It Also Enhances Focus And Concentration.

The practice consists of breathing exercises that open up the lymph nodes and aid better breathing. The purpose of breathing exercises is to focus on each breath and position which enhances your concentration and doubles up the energy.

5. It Reduces Stress As Well As Depression.

The Bikram yoga benefits are immense, since meditation is also a part of this program. It helps relieve anxiety as well as everyday tensions. It also helps soothe depression. The poses enable holistic growth and better overall development.
