One of the reasons I love yoga so much is that its benefits are so varied and holistic. This practice improves not only health (on the physical, mental as well as emotional levels), but it can also help you look the best version of yourself. One thing you are sure to notice with sustained yoga practice is improvement in your skin. And this holds especially true if you establish a daily yoga for glowing skin routine with these asanas and pranayamas.

Yoga For Glowing Skin

1. Kapalbhati Pranayama (Skull Brightener) For A Glowing Face

Ask any yoga expert to suggest a technique of yoga for a glowing face, and they are most likely to mention the Kapalbhati Pranayama. This breathing technique is truly beautifying – it releases toxins from the body, improves oxygen supply, and energises the body. All of this help your skin glow.

2. Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose) For Better Digestion

The Thunderbolt Pose deserves a place on any good list of yoga poses for glowing skin. Ayurveda, as well as plenty of research, says that proper digestion is crucial for healthy skin. When your digestive system doesn’t function well, it leads to toxin build up and lack of nutrition. This causes all sorts of skin problems, from acne to early ageing. Practising this pose for 30 minutes everyday ensures optimum digestion. And it’s incredibly easy!

3. Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations) To Sweat Out Toxins

Surya Namaskar is a great yoga for glowing skin technique. A combination of poses several poses in a sequence, Sun Salutations is a great cardio exercise. It helps you sweat out toxins, improves digestion, boosts blood circulation, and also reduces stress. All of these work to help your skin glow. Moreover, it also supports both weight loss as well as muscle building.

4. Sirasana (Headstand) For Blood Circulation

One of the most popular yoga poses, the Headstand is indeed an excellent skin health booster. Being an inversion pose, it significantly improves blood circulation towards your face. This means more nutrition supply. It also brings about better hormonal balance – extremely essential for healthy and glowing skin. It also improves moods.

5. Matsyasana (Fish Pose) For Calmness And Hormonal Balance

The Fish Pose is a wonderful pose of yoga for beautiful skin. If stress and hormonal imbalance are the prime causes of your skin problems, be sure to include it in your yoga routine. It supports the functioning of the thyroid and pituitary glands. It’s a great anti-depressant and stress-busting asana. And it also expands the chest, thus promoting better blood circulation to your skin.

6. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) For Confidence And Beauty

The last on the yoga for glowing skin poses list is the Cobra Pose. It’s not only great for skin health, but also makes you more confident and energised. For skin, it works by reducing stress and fatigue, improving digestion, boosting oxygen supply, and also promoting detoxification. One of my personal favourite poses.
