Angina pectoris is a syndrome associated with chest pains that happen due to reduced blood flow towards your heart. The angina symptoms include chest heaviness, burning as well as chest tightening. The angina causes are explained as a blockage in the arteries due to various reasons. Angina pain can be sharp and extremely uncomfortable – therefore it may require immediate attention. However, home remedies can help ease the symptoms to a great extent.

The angina pectoris types include chronic, unstable, variant as well as microvascular angina. The most common and dangerous one is unstable angina. Therefore, angina treatment would require surgeries along with heavy medication, but you can lower the discomforts with effective herbs and spices.

What Are Angina Causes?

  • Thickening of arteries
  • Plaque or fat deposit
  • Smoking
  • High cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Genes

  • Pressure behind the chest bones
  • Chest pain
  • Acidity
  • Breathlessness
  • Dizziness
  • Faintness or nausea
  • Palpitations
  • Sweating

Angina Treatment

The condition of angina pectoris can be managed better with the following home remedies:

1. Treat Angina Pectoris With Garlic.

Since garlic is known to clear bad cholesterol from the body, regular consumption can lower the angina pain a lot. Therefore, mix 2-5 crushed garlic cloves with honey and have it every morning on an empty stomach. You can also consume garlic with water as an effective angina treatment.

2. Reduce Angina Pain With Turmeric.

As turmeric is a natural blood thinner, it helps ease the blood flow in your body. Also, the curcumin amounts present in turmeric restrict the clot formation as well as plaque buildup. Therefore, add ½ teaspoon of turmeric in one glass of milk. Boil the milk and drink it with some honey. Avoid having turmeric if you’re already on blood thinning medications.

3. Use Indian Gooseberry (Amla).

Since amla is enriched with vitamin C, it increases blood flow and ultimately reduces the angina symptoms. Amla is great for inflammation in the chest. Hence, eat a medium-sized gooseberry with salt every day, or chew it dry. This is a great angina treatment.

4. Basil Juice Reduces Angina Symptoms.

Angina pectoris causes due to thickening blood vessels. However, basil leaves can help. They contain magnesium, antioxidants as well as other essential vitamins to ensure the protection of these vessels from cholesterol and to allow a better flow of blood. So, take one teaspoon of basil juice and mix it in a teaspoon honey. Consume on an empty stomach. Do this every day.

5. Alfalfa Tea Treats Angina Symptoms.

Alfalfa tea can reduce the cholesterol levels as well as plaque from your arteries. Since alfalfa contains chlorophyll, it gets rid of the angina pain. Therefore, take one teaspoon of dried alfalfa leaves and put it in a cup of boiling water. Every day, steep the tea for about 5 minutes, strain and drink to alleviate the chest pain.
