Obesity is a widely discussed health issue. However, being underweight is also detrimental for health. If your ideal weight is much below the standard range, you can face several problems. Super slim is a trend in the fashion industry, however, there also are ill effects that weaken the system for real!

Health Issues Associated With Being Underweight

1. Fragile Bones

If you are someone who’s underweight, you are more likely to have low bone density. You can easily fracture your bones and can also incur osteoporosis along with vitamin D deficiency.

2. Anemia

Being underweight puts you at risk of having anemia which is caused by iron deficiency along with lack of folate and vitamin B12.

3. Weak Immunity

The more weight issues you face, the more infections you contract. And being underweight simply attributes to nutrients in the body being insufficient. This eventually weakens your immunity and makes it difficult to restore energy or fight illnesses.

4. Pregnancy Problems In Women

Women who are below the average weight can face fertility issues. Inadequate body weight can lead to irregular or lack of periods. Ovulation doesn’t happen and this is what decreases the chances of conceiving.

5. Sexual Issues With Men

It’s not just women but even men can experience problems associated with being underweight. Such men are at an increased risk of having erectile dysfunction. Being underweight wrecks nutritional intake which doesn’t supply adequate oxygen-rich blood to the body parts at play during sex, and hence the condition.

6. Hair Loss

Being underweight can also deteriorate your hair health and hair loss is one of the critical issues that you can face. Lack of nutrients can obstruct the hair growth and also it’s strength. And because you lack the required nourishment, your hair becomes thin and falls easily.

7. Muscle Weakness

When your body weight is less than the normal range, muscle weakness is another health risk that disrupts your system’s functioning. It leads to chronic fatigue, weakness, and intense physical pain.

8. Heart Failure

As your body does not gain the essential nutrients, the production of red blood cells also lower. This significantly gets the blood supply down and cause heart-related ailments, including heart failure.

9. Sudden Overall Weakness

Regardless of the illness you face, being underweight simply gets you low on energy. It leads to overall weakness where the body stops functioning the way it should. This gradually hampers your productivity and also causes depression.

10. Changes In body Temperature

When the body weight isn’t what it ideally must be, the core temperature tends to change easily. So, even after your environment being warm, you feel cold quite easily.
