The Tree Pose (Vrikshasana) is a widely taught beginner yoga pose. The Vrikshasana benefits can be experienced at the mental, emotional as well as physical levels. As the name suggests, this pose takes on the qualities of a tree – stable, strong, and grounded. In this post, we’ll tell you all about this wonderful yoga pose. 1. The Tree Pose Brings Balance.

When you learn the Tree Pose, you’ll realise that this yoga pose is all about balance. It enhances mind-body coordination. The Tree Pose improves physical, mental, and emotional balance. Practising this pose helps you bring balance into other spheres of your life too, like work and relationships.

Who Shouldn’t Do This Pose

  • There are certain contraindications one should keep in mind when it comes to practising any yoga pose. Here are some words of caution:
  • Arthritis patients should consult an expert before attempting this pose.
  • Those with knee injury cannot practise it.
  • Patients of high blood pressure should not lift their arms above their head but keep them folded at the chest.
  • Vertigo patients should avoid this pose.
  • If you have an injury in your hip, avoid it.
